From September 28 through October 1, 2026, BATIMAT in Paris will once again serve as a key meeting place for the international construction industry. For Aluprof, the trade show is more than just a platform for aluminum window, door, sunshade, and facade systems. The company aims to demonstrate how technical performance, energy efficiency, digitalization, and circularity are becoming increasingly intertwined.

Aluprof Belgium offers local support, in-depth market knowledge, and more direct communication. For customers and partners in Belgium, this strengthened market presence is of great significance. After all, projects, regulations, and material flows are increasingly being organized across borders, while clients have a growing need for consistent technical guidance.

A market that calls for different choices

According to Emmanuel Gregoire, Managing Director of Aluprof Belgium, the sector is currently in a transitional phase. Following the difficult market conditions of 2024 and the construction crisis of 2025, 2026 will be marked primarily by transformation. A cautious recovery is not expected until 2027. In the meantime, high labor, energy, and material costs, a shortage of skilled workers, and ongoing pressure on margins continue to shape the landscape.

Emmanuel Gregoire.

“Today, it’s not just about how many projects a company completes, but above all, what the bottom line is,” he says. “Companies must therefore focus more closely on delivery reliability, failure costs, and predictability. This poses a particular challenge for smaller and younger companies, because investments in digitization, automation, and training require a lot of capital.”

At the same time, the role of the facade contractor is changing. It is evolving from that of a contractor to that of a comprehensive facade partner who integrates engineering, production, installation, performance, and after-sales service. “The next step is for the facade contractor to also become a data and supply chain manager,” Gregoire explains. This requires closer collaboration between system providers, extruders, and fabricators, preferably starting as early as the initial design phases.

Sustainability also means security of supply

During the trade show, Aluprof aims to demonstrate how its solutions align with these trends. Its portfolio includes aluminum window and door systems, sun protection solutions, and curtain wall systems for a wide range of building types, as well as slim sliding systems. For the Belgian market, energy performance, design flexibility, reliable technical documentation, and opportunities for circular construction are particularly important.

In this context, circularity is taking on an increasingly broad meaning. Aluminum can be reused, but according to Gregoire, the sector must look beyond recycling alone. Repurposing, redesign, designing for disassembly, and take-back programs are becoming key components of future materials strategies. “Circularity will soon be about more than just acting responsibly; it will also be about ensuring the right material flows.”

Digitalization, too, must become more concrete and practical. BIM should not be used exclusively as a design tool, but as part of a continuous digital process: from cost estimation and work planning to CNC production, quality control, and the final as-built documentation. This makes it possible to prevent errors, delays, and unnecessary costs earlier on.

For architects, facade contractors, installers, and other Belgian partners, the Aluprof booth offers more than just product information. Above all, it is an opportunity to engage in dialogue about the future of the industry. For anyone looking for energy-efficient, technically sound, and circular solutions during BATIMAT 2026, Paris is the perfect time to get to know Aluprof or further strengthen an existing partnership.

When designing large facades—for example, with windows—it is also wise to draw on high-quality expertise.
