Curved lines give interiors a warm, soft, and inviting look, making spaces feel more pleasant and welcoming. It’s no wonder that organic shapes are gaining more and more traction in the world of interior design. Skantrae has been responding to this trend for quite some time with its SlimSeries One steel-look interior doors. Following the introduction of various door models with rounded rails in 2025, the luxury interior door collection will be expanded on June 22, 2026, with eight new designs that offer a surprising interpretation of the rounded design language. The new, trendy door designs are available with a black or white primer finish (clear, frosted, and solid variants) and finished in Pure White (RAL9010) and Deep Black (RAL9011) in combination with clear glass. Six models are also available in Natural Oak.

For more than 40 years, Skantrae has been a manufacturer and supplier of interior doors, exterior doors, and related accessories. The company closely monitors market developments and continuously translates new home and interior design trends into contemporary door concepts. “With the Matching Series—which includes our SlimSeries One and XS, among others—we have been at the forefront of doors and door designs for several years now,” says product manager Derk van der Kuip. The introduction of eight new designs featuring rounded shapes once again underscores this pioneering role.

Modern and sleek alternative to steel

“SlimSeries One was introduced about eight years ago in response to the growing demand for black industrial steel doors,” says Kristie Wanders, content marketer at Skantrae. “Instead of copying what’s already on the market, we developed a modern and sleek alternative made of wood that offers several advantages. For example, the minimalist glass door fits perfectly into existing door frames. Moreover, the wooden door is much more affordable than steel, while still giving customers the minimalist look they envision.”

New: glass doors with round shapes

In recent years, the SlimSeries collection has continued to expand with new door models. The most recent addition is the SlimSeries One door models, featuring unique rounded shapes that elegantly frame interior doors and allow Skantrae to keep pace with the latest interior design trends. “Whereas minimalist, sleek industrial shapes and bold colors dominated until recently, the market has shifted in no time to soft and refined rounded shapes and warm earth tones,” notes Van der Kuip. “Skantrae is now taking a new step in this direction, with eight surprising door models featuring organic shapes in a refined pattern that frame the door like a stylish bracelet. The latest door designs create a playful, inviting look and add movement and character to any space. With this, we’re clearly stepping off the beaten path and strengthening our position in the luxury interior door segment.”

Expansion of the Paint Finishing Service

Effective June 22, 2026, Skantrae will also expand its finishing service. “In addition to our standard RAL colors, we’re adding the complete Flexa Creations line to our color selection,” said Van der Kuip. “This was a deliberate choice, because the vibrant colors and their stories enhance the customer experience. Moreover, the Flexa Creations colors are on display at every home improvement store or paint shop, allowing customers to make well-informed color choices.”

“Following the trend toward contrasting colors, we’re seeing more and more consumers matching their interior doors to the color of their window frames, baseboards, walls, and/or floors,” says Wanders. “With the addition of the Flexa colors, we’re actively responding to this trend. The new colors that Flexa adds to its collection are automatically included in our topcoat program, ensuring that customers always have access to the latest color trends.” As an example, she cites the many earth tones, which bring a sense of calm and balance to interiors. But also the Flexa Creations Color of the Year 2026, ‘The Rhythm of Blues’ (Slow Swing, Mellow Flow, and Free Groove), which will have an atmospheric successor in 2027. “We’re also introducing six custom-blended metallic colors that add a special ‘shine’ to interiors and open up even more possibilities for tailoring our doors perfectly to individual living preferences.”

Easy online customization

Skantrae’s coordinating hardware packages round out the overall concept and ensure that every door is a perfect fit, even from a design perspective. In collaboration with Skantrae Expert, consumers can easily customize their ideal interior door online. “The configured door can then be forwarded with a single click to the professional, who orders it directly from the dealer via the system,” concludes Wanders. “This makes customization not only inspiring but also surprisingly simple and efficient to implement.”
