For Venster Techniek, a good sill doesn’t start with the product itself, but with the question of what a window frame manufacturer wants to create. What performance requirements are needed? Where are the bottlenecks in production or installation? And what does a special project mean for the entire window frame? By getting involved early on, the Zelhem-based manufacturer aims to ensure that the product, details, and process are optimally aligned.
Venster Techniek explicitly considers itself to be more than just a supplier. The company prefers to talk about “relationships” rather than “customers.” To truly add value, it delves deeply into both the product and the window frame manufacturer’s production process.
This could involve a new window frame design, but it could just as easily be a unique detail or a modification that improves production, assembly, or installation. Short lines of communication between sales, product development, and our in-house production facility in Zelhem make it possible to respond quickly and bring specialists together.
It is precisely this flexibility that Venster Techniek considers its competitive advantage. Not every customer request needs to result in a custom solution, but every non-standard application does deserve a thorough technical evaluation.

A product detail never stands alone. A bottom sash must not only meet technical requirements, but also match the window frame, the application, and the window manufacturer’s production methods. In addition to manufacturability, it is therefore also important that a solution can be implemented logically and contributes to a reliable end result.
This requires knowledge of thresholds, window frames, regulations, and wind and water management. Examples include end seals and weatherstripping for double doors in high-rise buildings, where stricter requirements apply for wind and water tightness. Building without an insulated cavity may also require a different assessment. Ultimately, what matters is the integration between the threshold, the door, the seal, and the structural connection.
That is why Venster Techniek likes to involve various parties in the discussion at an early stage when dealing with more complex issues. This allows the team to work together to find a well-founded solution and avoid surprises later in the project.

This collaboration is also reflected in product development. A recent example is the VTD Fire Protect, an in-frame threshold solution for wooden window frames, developed to meet requirements for fire, smoke, and sound insulation. The current version was created in collaboration with Van Vuuren Deuren. This brought together expertise in doors, window frames, thresholds, and installation into a single development.
Venster Techniek also shares practical knowledge about regulations, window frame and sill details, and process optimization with, among others, window frame manufacturers, architects, contractors, technical consultants, and project developers. The underlying principle is that better solutions emerge when parties within the construction industry combine their expertise.

According to Venster Techniek, this attitude is also evident within the company itself. The company describes its culture as no-nonsense, where respect, responsibility, and enjoyment go hand in hand. Employees are given the freedom to try out ideas, learn new things, and help shape their work.
In doing so, they not only work on specific products, but also solve technical problems and see firsthand what their contribution means for a client or project.

Meanwhile, Venster Techniek continues to invest in the future. On the agenda are product development and new construction, as well as modernizing the digital infrastructure for planning, production, logistics, and customer contact. In addition, the company is exploring how automation and robotics can further enhance its processes.
The goal is to create an organization that can respond to future demands in a smarter, more flexible, and more consistent manner. This preserves the core of the approach: not simply supplying a window sill, but working together to find a solution that improves both the entire window frame and the process surrounding it. ●
