Linear electric window opener offers solution for horse barn

In 2023, a new beautiful home was built in Wassenaar, complete with horse stables with skylights weighing as much as 300 kg. To effortlessly open these heavy roof windows, the owner's choice fell on the powerful linear electric window opener S80 from Teleflex BV of Tiel.

In the stables of the new building there are a total of eight large roof windows with double laminated glass, each weighing as much as 300 kg. Only a very solid window opener, such as the S80 linear electric window opener, is suitable for opening and operating such windows. "Given the size and weight of these skylights, our technician mounted two S80 window openers per window that work in sync with each other," says Teleflex operations manager Jesse Verheem. "This resulted in eight perfectly functioning windows with a total of 16 mounted S80 linear window openers."

Synchronous operation

The special feature of a linear window opener is that it is mounted vertically and features an opening rod made of stainless steel. "As a result, this type of window opener is generally a bit more solid than a regular chain opener," says Jesse. "Therefore, for the horse stables of this beautiful newly built house in Wassenaar, our linear electric window opener S80 was the ideal solution. Incidentally, our technician completed this challenging job in just two days! This proves once again the flexibility and speed of our services."

Ease of operation

Thanks to a convenient radio remote control, all skylights in the horse barn can be easily operated from one central point. "At the touch of a button, the skylights can be opened and closed effortlessly. Talk about luxury, comfort and ease of operation!", says Jesse. "By the way, the S80 has a maximum opening stroke of 1000 mm. But in this situation, an opening stroke of 400 mm was chosen. That means that any window opener can push the skylight open up to 40 cm. By the way, the S80 can also be controlled in other ways, such as, for example, with a switch on the wall or via a Wi-Fi connection with an app on the smartphone."
