More and more building owners are discovering the advantages of electric window openers, with which (interior) sash windows can be easily opened and closed. Also remotely. "Thanks to simple operation, natural ventilation is encouraged," says Jesse Verheem, Operations Manager at Teleflex. "Fresh, fresh air can flow far into the building, ensuring a healthy and pleasant working, learning and living climate. The windows have a dual function, as it were, because light and air come together nicely."
Teleflex, part of Railtechniek van Herwijnen Groep, has been at home in window openers for more than 70 years. The company from Gelderland advises, supplies and assembles a wide range of mechanical and electrical window openers for opening windows, tilt and turn windows, skylights and domes. From (double) chain openers and linear openers to rack openers. "Among other things, our window operators find eager demand in residential and commercial construction projects," says Verheem. "The products are mainly supplied to hardware stores and to contractor parties. If required, we are involved in their projects right from the consulting phase. Based on the type of window, dimensions, weight and user requirements, we recommend the most suitable products for each project. Naturally taking into account the applicable requirements as well as the appearance of the building. We are also happy to take care of the installation of the systems."
Following in the footsteps of the IJsselstein Library, the ROC gymnasium in Tilburg and the AutoXL showroom in Leiden, among others, Teleflex supplied electric window openers for the Gelderland District Court, Zutphen location, last summer. "On behalf of hardware retailer Mastermate, we prepared an offer for the supply and assembly of four pieces of Nano chain openers. On this basis, we were awarded the complete contract," said Verheem. "The Nano chain openers were mounted on the pop-out windows in the corridor area. Unlike most of our projects, the pop-out windows here sit quite low in the facade. Moreover, they are not noticeably large or heavy. The electric window openers were applied here in particular to enable central operation."
For this control, building owners have a choice of a simple Venetian blind switch on the wall, a radio remote control and/or Wi-Fi/app control via smartphone or tablet. "But integration into one's own building management system is also possible. The District Court has chosen this as well."
Unique to the Nano chain openers are their high performance (maximum load: 400 N) combined with a compact and fine design. "With a housing of only 24 x 35 mm, the Nano is the most compact window opener in our range!" said Verheem. "If desired, the chain opener can also be easily concealed in the frame. In addition, various sensors can be connected to the chain opener, such as a rain or wind sensor."
The Nano chain opener is available in white, black and aluminum color. In addition, opening strokes from 200 to as much as 800 mm are possible. "In the District Court in Zutphen, white window openers with an opening stroke of 200 mm were chosen. An electronic stop in the intermediate positions ensures that the Nano always reacts in time in case of overload. The chain opener has a standard supply voltage of 24 volts, but in combination with an inverter a supply voltage of 230 volts is also possible."
The chain is made of stainless steel. "This makes the chain not only very strong, but also excellently weatherproof," Verheem concludes. "A low opening speed of 4 mm per second guarantees extremely quiet operation."
Because Teleflex took care of both the delivery and assembly of the Nano chain openers, the Court in Zutphen is assured of a 5-year product warranty as well as 2 years of free service and maintenance.
