In the Netherlands, 75% of existing homes are not yet properly insulated. Replacing a 38mm door with a 54mm door can already make a big difference. In a short animation film, GND explains how it works and what the advantages are. After all, in addition to a pleasant and comfortable home and CO2 reduction, it also reduces energy consumption. And that is important for everyone with today's energy prices.
When insulating the facade, well-insulating doors and door-frame combinations play an important role. For new construction, the 54mm door has been the standard for 20 years, and for very energy-neutral homes, doors as thick as 67 to 80mm. In existing homes, however, technically obsolete and poorly insulating 38mm doors, are often replaced by new, equally poorly insulating 38mm doors. While applying a thicker, high-quality insulating door with insulating glazing and the right seals gives a much better result. In the animated film, GND explains that a 54mm can often be installed without frame modifications and that the additional cost is very limited.
