Wholesaler of watch parts makes strides in product innovation and sustainability
Dalupo, the largest wholesaler of screen components and systems in the Netherlands, wants to be more than just a supplier. According to founder Hendrik Jan van Dalfsen, its strength lies in client-specific solutions and continuous product development.

The company from Teuge in Gelderland began in 2010 as an importer of aluminum profiles and soon focused specifically on screen profiles. Gradually, the range was expanded to include mesh, corner pieces, stainless steel springs, sealing brushes and other parts.
Not just delivering from stock, but above all thinking along with the customer is at the heart of the strategy. “Our focus is on continuously developing and improving products that make installation easier or increase ease of use,” says Van Dalfsen. “This is how we help dealers work more efficiently and keep their customers happy.”
A concrete example of this drive for innovation is the 34 mm-horizontal profile with thin lip. Van Dalfsen: “The lip, or ‘flange,’ is the part of the profile that enters the frame. If the lip is too thick, the pivot part of the window can have difficulty closing, leading to unnecessary friction and tension. With the thin lip, we solve this problem: windows close more smoothly and installation is easier, without compromising the strength of the screen.”

The spring pin housing was also updated. “We made a conscious decision to change the spring pin housing to a stainless steel version to get an even higher-quality look and match the stainless steel spring pin a little better.” The design received a ribbed slotted hole instead of a single bore and a stainless steel end cap. “This makes mounting the spring pin even easier.”
In addition to product development, sustainability is receiving increasing attention. Since October 2023, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will be phased in, requiring importers to report on CO₂ emissions from the production of aluminum profiles. From 2026, a CO₂ levy will be linked to this.
Meanwhile, Dalupo has obtained the required authorization to continue importing aluminum profiles. “An important part of these regulations is that all authorized parties must purchase a license for every kilogram of aluminum they import,” Van Dalfsen clarified. “This mandatory purchase of licenses involves additional costs and will therefore affect the prices of aluminum profiles. However, with this, Dalupo does fully comply with European regulations and we will ensure that our dealers are assured of stable and reliable deliveries.”

The company's innovations and strategic direction were presented in early 2026 at the Polyclose trade fair in Ghent. According to Van Dalfsen, the event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and establish new contacts. “Polyclose was an excellent time for us to show how we support dealers with smart, sustainable and user-friendly solutions.”

With targeted innovations, attention to more stringent European regulations and a clear focus on customer-oriented product development, Dalupo is emphatically positioning itself as more than just a supplier of insect screen components. The company combines practical improvements in the product range with investments in sustainable and future-proof solutions, and in doing so, together with dealers and partners, aims to respond to the changing requirements within within the insect protection sector.
