When it comes to locking systems, the combination of mechanical cylinders and electronic solutions gets very high marks. With ixalo, you can combine them flexibly. This makes your total locking system easy to combine and manage. "With ixalo, every real estate need is met," emphasizes Marc van Oijen, Architectural Advisor at GU Netherlands. "Regardless of whether it is a residential house, a small commercial building or a business complex with 500 doors."
Gretsch-Unitas, better known as GU, is a leading supplier in window and door technology, automatic access systems and building management systems. The GU group manufactures and distributes building hardware, locks and locking and access control systems of the GU, GU automatic, FERCO, ela-soft and BKS brands, among others. "The ixalo electronic locking system from BKS combines a variety of electronic products and technologies into a modern, durable total system," said Van Oijen. "Optionally equipped with BKS SE technology or RFID technology, ixalo offers many possible applications to meet individual customer requirements. By combining mechanical and electronic locking systems, individual designs can be realized easily, reliably and cost-effectively."
Together with the BKS KeyManager, the ixalo cylinder, ixalo wall reader and ixalo access media are the building blocks of this modular locking system, which in addition to excellent technical functionality is distinguished by a modern design, energy-efficient operation and maximum flexibility, security and efficiency.
ixalo guarantees a particularly low energy consumption of its products; an important criterion for battery-powered systems. As a result, a very high number of closing cycles can be guaranteed.
ixalo meets the highest security requirements of standard EN 15684 for mechatronic locking cylinders by using highly secure encryption and communication mechanisms. The security is certified by the VdS.
Locking systems are particularly cost-effective when electronic and mechanical cylinders are combined in one system. The prerequisite for this is that all cylinders, keys and transponders are managed uniformly within a single software. BKS KeyManager is a management software that allows electronic access rights to be changed at any time and conveniently updated locally via the release terminals.
The ixalo door hardware offers a very convenient solution for access organization. The orientation of the door handle can be reversed to DIN left or DIN right, ensuring excellent flexibility in mounting. Approved according to EN 179/EN 1125, ixalo door hardware can also be used on doors in escape and rescue routes. Additional special functions such as daytime shut-off, double-check principle and burglar alarm system function are available. The ixalo door fitting provides visual and acoustic access authorization signals - with up to 120,000 closing cycles/standard battery pair and is therefore very energy-efficient.
The new ixalo wall reader continues the attractive ixalo door hardware design and is well suited for consistent design within projects in conjunction with the electronic door hardware.
KeyManager is a locking system software that unites mechanical, mechatronic and electronic components into one total system. One user interface provides a complete overview of all electronic and mechanical access media such as cylinders, keys and transponders. The mechanical KeyManager module has been newly introduced and now offers a fast, intuitive and modern user interface with enhanced functions. Access rights for individual doors or entire door groups can be assigned to electronic access media via KeyManager. Time limits can be imposed, for example at certain times of the day or for entire periods. Access rights can also be changed and adapted at any time.
A notable innovation from Ixalo is the ability to open access points with a smartphone, adding a new layer of convenience and flexibility to access control.
