Cloud-based, intuitive access control system

As a full-service provider of innovative access solutions for better and safer buildings, spaces, and premises, dormakaba continuously focuses on the development of new components and systems. A recent example of this is the cloud-based access control system MATRIX Cloud, introduced last year. This comprehensive and intuitive management solution not only guarantees unprecedented flexibility but is also always up-to-date and secure. And another great benefit: users do not need to invest in purchasing and managing their own server hardware. Precisely because of this, costs are always transparent, predictable, and can be planned on an annual basis.

MATRIX Cloud is a new addition to dormakaba’s well-known MATRIX concept, a solution that has been embraced by many users since its launch 10 years ago. With the rollout of the cloud-based version, dormakaba offers the ideal access solution for small and medium-sized businesses that want to focus entirely on their core business and do not wish to deploy IT specialists or servers for access control. “MATRIX Cloud is a direct derivative of our classic MATRIX system and uses the same modular hardware components,” explains Barend Klop, product marketing manager for access control at dormakaba.

“This translates, among other things, into quick and easy installation and intuitive operation. It also allows us to offer a cloud-based solution that is always up-to-date and secure and does not require any physical installation of software on-site. We ensure that software updates are performed entirely automatically via the cloud.”

Optimal Service

In addition to maximum security and flexibility, MATRIX Cloud also has everything it takes in terms of ease of use and cost control to provide users with optimal service. “Installing software updates and implementing and maintaining local servers take a lot of time and money,” Klop explains. “With this system, you don’t have to worry about that. dormakaba takes over all these tasks, resulting in significant cost savings within the IT infrastructure. At the same time, you gain a solution within your company’s walls that guarantees reliable operation in accordance with the highest standards for compliance, cybersecurity, and data protection.”

And if dormakaba access components are already installed in the building, they do not need to be replaced. MATRIX Cloud supports all access control management options—including online, wireless online, AccessOnCard, or a combination thereof. Even if you want to migrate an existing MATRIX ONE system to MATRIX Cloud, the existing access components can continue to be used without any modifications.

Custom

Choosing MATRIX Cloud also means choosing the ultimate in customization. “Thanks to our extensive and diverse product portfolio, we offer a suitable hardware solution for every situation—one that’s easy to implement and simple to expand in the future,” says Klop. “This is true even when the customer wants to use the access control system across multiple locations. It also comes equipped with various smart additional features. These include the ability to integrate with an email server for sending important system messages. This helps make the system a comprehensive solution that always fits the need.”
