Round lines give our interiors a warm, soft and friendly feel, making spaces feel more accessible. Not for nothing round shapes are increasingly applied. Skantrae goes along with this with the SlimSeries One steel-look interior doors, which are now also available with round rods. A total of six new door models have been added to the collection, in three popular finishes: Deep Black (RAL 9011), Pure White (RAL 9010) and Natural Oak.
Skantrae has been a manufacturer and supplier of interior doors, exterior doors and accessories for more than forty years and closely follows developments in the market. “For several years we have seen the demand for flatter, tighter and more modern door solutions grow,” says Head of Sales Niels Abbenhuis. “To keep up with this, we have reinvented ourselves, so to speak. And with success, because with the Matching Series - which includes, for example, our SlimSeries One and XS - we are setting a new standard in doors and door designs.”

“SlimSeries One was introduced about seven years ago as a response to the growing demand for black industrial steel doors,” says Marcel Hermsen, Product Group & Sourcing Manager at Skantrae. “Instead of copying the market, we developed a modern and precisely slim alternative in wood that we believe has several advantages. For example, the minimalist glass door can still be customized on the project site, which also makes it excellent for incorporation into existing door frames. Moreover, the wooden door is much more economical than steel, while customers still get the minimalist and industrial look they envision.”
In recent years, the SlimSeries collection has continued to expand with new door models. The most recent addition is the SlimSeries One steel-look glass doors with round rods. “At Skantrae, we have always believed in creating solutions that are not only functional, but also beautiful,” says Marketing & Communications Specialist Feline van Nielen. “Our latest SlimSeries One steel-look glass doors underscore this vision. Instead of straight rods, these doors feature curved rods that create a playful and friendly look, adding movement and character to any room.”
“Our SlimSeries One steel-look glass doors are distinguished by a slim basic design with a fixed style and sill width of 60 mm,” says Hermsen. “Within this, customers have a choice of various rod arrangements. For example, with three panes, four panes, in an asymmetrical design or - since the beginning of October - with a round rod division. The fact that the rods are only 30 cm wide creates - in combination with the 60 mm wide stiles and sills - an optimal design ratio. Our matching hardware packages complete the unique door (design) technically.”
Currently, Skantrae distinguishes six models, five of which have an organic (semi-circular) shape and one with a rectangular design. “In our own machining center in Zevenaar, we can assemble all models ourselves,” Abbenhuis says. “This allows us to deliver a very wide range of sizes quickly from stock.”
The KOMO-certified SlimSeries One doors can be supplied fully painted in Deep Black (RAL 9011), Pure White (RAL 9010) or Natural Oak and in combination with clear glass, says Van Nielen. “This allows the doors to be assembled on site even faster and more efficiently. But primed models are also possible, in combination with clear glass, spray glass or smoked glass.”
Initial reactions to the new and round SlimSeries One steel-look glass doors have been favorable, says Abbenhuis. “Both from customers and dealers, who see the doors as a beautiful and relevant addition to our range. Moreover, because the new doors can be effortlessly combined with the other doors in our Matching Series, even more interior designs are possible.”
