The concept of 'invisible' doors will not be questioned

The playbook for new construction and renovation of public buildings includes increasingly stringent requirements. After all, these are places that are usually frequented by large numbers of people. Energy efficiency, thermal insulation, acoustics and aesthetics are important aspects for architects, contractors and building owners. However, they must also consider fire safety and always prevent flames and smoke from spreading through the building. So at Xinnix, a specialist in patented systems for the flush integration of interior doors, they immediately saw the need for an elegant fire door that met stringent requirements and was visually complementary to the other doors in the building.

A fire door with style

Combining fire safety and aesthetics in one product is not always easy, but Xinnix's R&D department proves that it can be done. With the development of a new fire-resistant door, they are responding perfectly to the needs of the construction industry for demanding applications. "We thought it was a shame that people everywhere could integrate beautiful flat-walled Xinnix doors, but could not offer a fire door that fit into that picture. After all, the classic bulky fire door was not an immediate design showpiece. It has now been replaced by an elegant door that is not a disturbing element and also creates visual calm due to the absence of visible frames, hinges and door pumps. The proven concept of our systems for seamless integration of the door into the wall has not been touched: pre-painted aluminum frames with invisible hinges and, optionally, an integrated door closer. Thanks to the extensive range of locks, a customized solution can always be realized," says owner Chris Vermeulen. 

"The combination of our certified Xinnix frames with a fire-resistant door leaf ensures that fire and smoke do not spread. The assembly was subjected to various fire tests and also passed them with flying colors. The single doors are available in EI₁30 and EI₂60, the double doors in EI₁30. They also meet the SA-S200 smoke standard, limiting or completely stopping the transmission of smoke or gases between rooms."

A full range

Xinnix now offers a full range. It all started with the 'invisible' swing doors type X1, X2 and X40, standard or ceiling high, supplied with 3D independently adjustable hinges and a Xinnix magnetic lock. Technical or fire-resistant doors and acoustic door solutions with sound attenuation of -33 dB - and higher on request - are also available in the same style. The X3, specially designed for pivot doors, includes a self-closing pivot that is invisibly installed at the bottom of the door leaf. The frame of this X3 ensures that the clearance around the door leaf is evenly 5 mm and eliminates "faults" in the walls. 

"X5 allows wood and glass sliding doors - single and double - to slide completely into the wall. The addition of soft-open, push2open and soft-close makes these sliding doors very user-friendly," adds Chris
Vermeulen to. 

"Finally, the X8 combines an aluminum structure as well as different infill options. It is a total package with a frame, a door leaf, the finish, the certified Xinnix hinges and a magnetic lock. The finishing possibilities are endless. Whether you choose Dibond, HDF, Plexi or HPL, everything can be completely customized to the customer's needs."

Whichever type of door one chooses, the aluminum profiles are available in primer white (RAL9016 SA30) and black (RAL9005), making them fit perfectly into any interior. In addition, if one uses the same finish for door and wall, everything blends seamlessly and takes the interior to a higher level.
