Wrapping works faster than painting

Wrapping works faster than painting

Coating facades with high-quality foil is becoming increasingly common, especially in renovation projects. This gives a tighter finish than painting, hardly any maintenance, colorfastness even when exposed to UV light and a 10-year warranty!

"Just call us facade decorators at heart," says Henk de Bruin, director of Holland Geveltechniek, a total supplier of high-quality facade solutions. The company renovates facades using foil, or wrapping. To this end, it has entered into a partnership with Avery Dennison, manufacturer and supplier of the film. Holland Geveltechniek works in the Netherlands and abroad.

Advantages

Holland Facade Technology

Wrapping works faster than painting, it is durable and can be used both indoors and outdoors. Moreover, the color does not fade in sunlight, giving a 10-year warranty on color fastness and adhesion. Hardly any maintenance is required either.

De Bruin: "And the end result is great. Everything is covered at once and a weathered building looks like new again. Tighter than painting. In addition, we work sustainably and do not cause dust and dirt." Avery also has a Color Match Service that allows a facade to be completely customized to a company's corporate identity. On-demand printing on foil is also possible. "This means you can even insert text and stick it on your building," De Bruin adds.

Notable projects

Holland Facade Technology

The firm recently completed several high-profile projects, including the Hilversum XL office, the former Verona office. The old-fashioned-looking building had been vacant for a long time. Thanks to wrapping, this building underwent a complete makeover in just a few weeks. The old blue interior and exterior windows were given a modern anthracite color with Avery façade foil. This gave the facade a totally different look and feel in no time. On the inside, the white entrance hall was made completely black with foil. So it didn't take long before the building was fully leased. The same goes for RIV Republic Building in Rotterdam. This involves two former office buildings that are now being transformed into apartments. The exterior facades of these were wrapped in black film.

De Bruin: "A feat because it involves 10 floors, so our mechanics had to do their work at dozens of meters high. Precise work. Fortunately, due to their training, they are highly skilled in applying the foil. And although they are constantly working under time pressure, they always deliver on time."

Then there is the large Peugeot showroom in Bergschenhoek, whose exterior facade was completely wrapped in dark blue facade foil by Holland Geveltechniek. And finally, the City Library in Delft. "There, inside, we treated the blue glass panels and orange elevators with gold-colored film. In short, wrapping offers an enormous diversity of possibilities! And because of our experience with this work, customers keep coming back," said De Bruin.
