Maneuverable glass piston for placing glass up to 500 kilograms

During the S.G.A. trade days, VIAVAC presented its range of mechanical glass vacuums. The Lopik-based company also introduced its newest addition during the exhibition: the VIAVAC GBL2. 

With its wide applicability, the GBL2 manages to distinguish itself from its predecessors. Marketing manager Thomas Andriessen: "This glass suction dredger is specially designed for the easy installation of a wide range of glass facade elements or windows. The compact base has a lifting capacity of 250 kilograms and the extended version with extensions 500 kilograms. Thanks to its compact size, it can be hoisted between a facade and scaffold, which is convenient for new construction and renovation projects. The GBL2 also offers a solution when creating a conservatory with long glass panels, because of extensions that prevent the glass from sagging."

Extended configuration up to 500 kilograms

The nimble GBL2 is equipped with a short suspension eye, which allows flat glass to be placed under overhangs in combination with a hoist or mini crane. At longer ranges, the machine manages to make optimum use of the crane's maximum lifting capacity thanks to its lightweight design. When placing, the glass is easy to tilt thanks to the turning and tilting mechanism.

Demand from the market
The GBL2 features a dual circuit, which enhances safety and eliminates the need for straps. The machine sprints creatively to place glass. Andriessen: "The new machine is an answer to market demand. A contractor working with long glass panels needs a powerful machine. This version is small in size but has a large capacity thanks to the extensions."
