Unique burglary protection deters before damage is caused

"The recent introduction of our Smart Guard II Plus and Smart Guard II Connect opens new doors when it comes to intelligence and connectivity. Whereas the Smart Guard II Plus comes with a REHAU SMART app included, the Smart Guard II Connect features a REHAU SMART app, a REHAU gateway and optional door/window contacts allowing users to experience even more security, comfort and convenience."

Preventive security prevents damages

The majority of all burglaries are not by professionals, but are occasional burglaries. 

"This is where targeted deterrence with Smart Guard is particularly effective," said Van Houten. "Smart Guard involves an intelligent sensor, which signals potential burglars at an early stage and within a fraction of a second. The innovative security sensor thus works preventively. With this we go much further than conventional alarm systems, which only react when windows and doors are already damaged and/or when an intruder is already in the house. Thanks to our system, unauthorized persons are immediately detected and deterred and damage to frames, windows and doors is prevented."

Simple but effective

The infrared sensor is linked to wireless switches, which allow residents to manually (de-)activate the sensors. In addition, (de-)activation is possible via the REHAU app. "As soon as movement is detected between 20 centimeters and 2 meters away from the window frame, a signal is automatically transmitted to the receiver (Smart Guard II Plus) or gateway (Smart Guard II Connect)," Van Houten said. "Residents are thus alerted immediately. In addition, a
visual and/or audible signal issued to the "intruder. As a first warning signal, a red LED will light up. If this does not deter the intruder, the next level of escalation can be activated automatically: the indoor siren. This siren will get louder and louder as the unauthorized person approaches. In this way, we clearly show and tell potential burglars that they do not need to try to break in...."

Compatible in many ways

The Smart Guard sensors can be installed unobtrusively in any REHAU SYNEGO system. 

"All of our window and door systems have an SKG^** certification," Van Houten says. "Also our new Slide sliding door system. Moreover, subsequent assembly on our systems as well as third-party systems is possible, taking security to an even higher level. An extensive range of colors enables stylish integration on any frame." The Smart Guard II Connect sensor can also be integrated into other vendors' Smart Home systems, such as Mediola or Homey, if desired. "Advanced users thus have virtually no limitations in the multitude of Smart Home devices. In the process, individual alarm scenarios can also be configured; from turning lights on or off to opening or closing curtains."

A first step in Smart Home solutions

The absolute simplicity of REHAU's Smart Guard system makes an entry into the Smart Home world child's play, Van Houten said. "The solution with the REHAU gateway and accompanying app is particularly easy to configure. The Smart Guard modules, indoor siren and accessories such as wireless switches can be integrated very easily. Even retroactively." 

The Smart Home system can be easily controlled via the accompanying REHAU SMART app. "This allows residents to easily control their security system - anytime, anywhere."

An additional benefit of this app is that the status (open or closed) of windows and/or doors is displayed at all times, using optional REHAU window contacts. Even for the windows on which the Smart Guard is not installed.

Turnkey installation

The REHAU Smart Home system is delivered ready-to-use by the installer. This allows users and to get started immediately. All Smart Guard modules run on batteries. Cables are not required. If a battery needs to be replaced, residents automatically receive a message. This allows them to enjoy maximum security with the highest level of convenience and comfort. Quite simply.
