When the doors of Polyclose open in Ghent (Belgium) in January 2026, Warema will be presenting innovative sun protection solutions for facades and outdoor areas. In Hall 1 at Stand 1260, the European market leader will be showcasing inspiring outdoor living solutions and intelligently controlled external blinds, roller shutters, and screens that combine energy efficiency, comfort, and design in a forward-looking way.
Due to climate change, rising energy costs, and the desire for comfortable living, intelligent shading systems have become a central component of modern architecture. Warema's external sun protection systems not only ensure pleasant indoor temperatures, but also actively reduce energy consumption for cooling and heating. In this way, they contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and protecting the environment.
Against this backdrop, Warema is presenting, among other things, the innovative window system external blind with Zetra slats at Polyclose, which offers up to 25 percent more shading compared to conventional slats. When open, the concave reflective surfaces ensure efficient use of daylight and, at the same time, high wind stability. The flat Windra 80 WF slat has been developed for demanding facades that are particularly exposed to wind. It combines the filigree elegance of a flat slat with exceptional stability and guarantees reliable heat protection and flexible daylight control, even in high wind loads. Warema will also be showcasing high-quality screens and roller shutters at the trade fair that are suitable for both new construction projects and energy-efficient renovations.
The portfolio is complemented by well-designed safety features such as the Warema SecuKit. In the event of an emergency or power failure, this allows manual operation of the sun protection products, clearing escape and rescue routes within seconds.
Sustainability is also a key focus: the SolarKit, which runs on solar energy, allows roller shutters and screens to be operated independently of the power grid—ideal for retrofitting without a mains connection.
WAREMA's extensive range of insect screens will also be on display at Polyclose. Whether integrated into sun protection systems or used as a stand-alone solution, custom-made systems such as fixed or rotating frames, pleated blinds, roller blinds, sliding doors, or swing doors keep unwanted insects, pollen, and fine dust out while ensuring good ventilation, thus contributing to a healthy, comfortable indoor climate and a good night's sleep.

Integrated solutions for connected and future-proof building management are more popular than ever. With the WMS wireless system or the Omnexo bus system, external blinds, screens, and roller shutters can be controlled automatically and depending on the weather. Thanks to the WMS sensor system, the sun protection reacts independently to the position of the sun, the temperature, and the wind – for an optimal indoor climate and maximum energy efficiency at all times. “Intelligent sun protection is now much more than just providing shade. It is an active part of energy-efficient building planning and significantly increases living comfort.
