Spanish multinational unveils modular system featuring fixed glass panels and doors
Cortizo, the international market leader in aluminum and plastic systems for architecture, introduces Millennium Wall: a new system for fixed glass panels and doors, equipped with a finger-pinch protection mechanism.
This modular system is ideally suited for enclosing retail spaces, offices, restaurants and bars, and other commercial buildings. The fixed facade elements consist of stiles and rails with a recess depth of 100 mm and a face width of 52 mm. As a result, the system’s appearance seamlessly complements Cortizo’s curtain wall systems with cover caps.
Millennium Wall offers various access solutions featuring single- or double-leaf swing doors. These are equipped with pivot hinges and door closers integrated into the top rail, allowing the doors to open in both directions. The doors are designed for heavy-duty use in high-traffic areas and feature built-in finger-pinch protection for added user safety.
Each door leaf can be up to 1,100 mm wide and 2,500 mm high, with a maximum door weight of 120 kg. Its high level of burglary resistance has been confirmed by successful PAS 24 certification in accordance with the strict British standard. Considerable attention has also been paid to accessibility: thanks to a threshold height of just 15 mm, the system meets the requirements for accessible entry.
In laboratory tests, Millennium Wall achieved excellent performance in terms of air permeability (Class 4), watertightness (Class 3A), and resistance to wind loads (Class C2). Thermal performance is enhanced by a thermal break of up to 35 mm and the ability to install glazing up to 45 mm thick. In addition, the glazing beads can be equipped with pre-installed rubber gaskets, making the installation of the glass on the construction site faster and easier.
To ensure a uniform look, all accessories are available in the same colors and finishes as the profiles. The system is compatible with the standard door handles from the Millennium series, including Art Infinity and Inox. If the door opens in only one direction, it can also be fitted with a door handle.
