40 years of building on assurance of door quality and performance: GND Garantiedeuren continues to innovate.

Garantiedeuren GND Foundation this year celebrates a milestone of 40 years since its founding, in which the focus has always been on providing guarantees on the quality of doors. But today it is not just about guarantees, but also about the assurance and verifiability of door quality and performance. This realization is vitally important, since many performances on the outside of doors are invisible and difficult to verify.

To promote transparency and verifiability for now and the future, GND introduced the assurance label in 2016. This label, attached to the hinge side of the door, uses a QR code. By scanning the QR code, all of the door's performance can be easily read on the screen of a smartphone. Recently, GND enhanced the label with three additional information buttons, which not only show functional performance, but also display maintenance and warranty conditions. Moreover, it offers the possibility to click through directly to the manufacturer of the door, ensuring access to the data of the respective door also for the future. This label also represents an important step toward circularity.

Testing and quality control

GND is committed to quality and control. The door industry is constantly innovating and investing in machinery and automation as well as in door testing. To obtain certificates of performance, manufacturers are audited several times a year by independent certified bodies. This shows that GND and the manufacturers are serious about the quality they guarantee.

Performance insightful for all

The GND security label has already achieved great success. Almost 30,000 QR code scans have already been performed this year, and market research shows that 60% of respondents have already used the label to check the performance of a door. More than 90% of them indicate that the label actually adds value. In addition, the label fits well with the Building Quality Assurance Act (Wkb), which will soon come into force.

Sharing information with the market

In addition to providing transparent information and assurance about the performance of doors, GND is also committed to knowledge sharing and education. Through webinars, white papers and advice tables for insulation and soundproofing, among others, GND aims to help clients, consultants and builders make the right choices.
