Soudal invests in pre-compressed swell bands and acquires French market leader Tramico

Soudal has acquired French company Tramico, market leader in pre-compressed foam tapes for the construction industry with headquarters and production facility in Gournay-en-Bray. The company will further expand its production and leading sales activities in pre-compressed swell tapes and sound insulation in France.

With more than 60 years of experience, Tramico has established a leading position in the market for waterproof joint sealing and sound insulation. In France, their Compriband® brand has become synonymous with waterproofing with pre-compressed swell bands. The product further complements Soudal's product portfolio in joint sealing and window construction.

Soudal has been very active in the French market for decades with local headquarters in Lyon. It has developed a strong position in the construction and retail market with a wide range of PU foams, sealants and adhesives. Combining the know-how of the respective product groups of Soudal and Tramico will therefore provide synergies to serve a broad construction customer base even better than today.

Soudal Group CEO Dirk Coorevits said, "The market potential of both leading companies will allow us to grow locally, strengthen our position in the construction industry and generate additional potential to broaden and deepen our product mix internationally. We are proud of another foreign acquisition, once again highlighting our global growth ambitions."

Employment at Tramico remains unchanged and current management remains at the helm. The Tramico production facility in Gournay-en-Bray will be Soudal's 25th production facility worldwide.
