When it comes to innovative door system solutions, SIEGENIA is at the forefront. A tangible proof of this is the BS 3700 automatic multi-point locking system. This solution offers manufacturers clear added value. "A unique feature of this innovative multi-point lock is the integrated self-adjusting mechanism with locking elements and swivel hooks," says technical coordinator Marten van Dijk of SIEGENIA.
The principle of the BS 3700 automatic multi-point locking system is as simple as it is effective: if the bolted locking elements come to a standstill before they reach the end position - for example, due to tolerances when sliding into the frame section - they are locked by a back-pressure safety device. "This holds the door in position and guarantees secure locking," says Van Dijk. "The automatic 20 mm locking of the swivel hook and deadbolt also ensures a high degree of security. This is underlined by the fact that all versions of BS 3700 locks are SKG**-certified, and for wood even SKG***-certified. In addition to the three locking points, the possibility of activating the child safety device offers reassuring security."
The BS 3700 is the first self-adjusting automatic multi-point closure. "It is the first closure that simply ignores critical installation situations or thermal influences," explains Van Dijk. "Its intelligent construction and the frame components matched to it make on-site adjustment unnecessary - even after several years of intensive use of the door. Because the new locking elements secure the sash in the frame at any time even when the door warps. This provides door manufacturers with significant time and cost savings."
In addition to a high level of security, the BS 3700 offers optimum comfort, continues the technical coordinator. "The door opens effortlessly and smoothly, because the low-friction material combinations used in the BS 3700 automatic multi-point lock are designed for maximum operating comfort. If required, this can be further optimized by installing an A-opener that opens the door electromechanically. In addition, the new BS 3700 automatic multi-point locking system offers outstanding flexibility. All upgrades can be used in any combination, allowing manufacturers to configure the multi-point lock as required to meet end-user needs - from the optional A-opener or gap holder to the faceplate extension for doors up to 3 meters high. The TA day release also offers additional design freedom and is also suitable for retrofitting, making the system even more attractive for renovation projects."
Moreover, with the BS 3700 automatic multipoint lock, door manufacturers benefit from its advanced manufacturing and assembly features, Van Dijk emphasizes. "For example, the DIN direction can be changed quickly and easily by simply using the deadbolt of the main lock. BS 3700 fits into the building enclosure system, and thus the recesses to be taken into frame in the KFV multi-point locks - as known to door manufacturers - are the same everywhere."
Summarizing, Van Dijk states, "With the innovative multi-point lock BS 3700, SIEGENIA offers a powerful, maintenance-free and flexible solution for doors made of various materials. With integrated self-adjustment that supports the entire life cycle of the door, manufacturers and end users can save time and costs without compromising safety or ease of operation."
