Burglar-proof doors with truly concealed hinges are now a reality for plastic frames!

Satisfaction prevails at KUFA's innovation department in IJmuiden. On September 23, two different doors with concealed hinges were tested for the SKG Burglar Resistance Class II seal of approval. And, both doors passed the seal of approval on these important criteria.

Meanwhile, the patent application has been filed by KUFA; the certificates will arrive shortly. Henk Weber and Didier Holslag can be justifiably proud of this achievement. "If you want to be trendsetting as a company, you have to prove your innovative strength time and again," say the pair. "Well, we succeeded again in this one. We are making life in the world of profiles and frames a little bit nicer for everyone."

In the years leading up to this special moment, it was already apparent that there was specific demand for such a revolutionary hinge. "We always keep our ear to the ground in the market. And then you start trying things out. So when you talk about innovation you also talk about 'testing, testing and more testing,'" explained Didier. "At a special test center in Germany, these test doors have opened and closed no less than 200,000 times. We leave nothing to chance. Another great thing is that the hinges of these burglar-resistant revolving doors are now concealed. All the flaws of the previous versions - i.e. the hinges that were not concealed - have been solved and eliminated thanks to our innovative strength. At the moment, the hinges for these plastic frames are being entered into KOC (Kufa Online Calculator) and the expectation is that we will actually be able to start delivering from mid-November."

When Henk looks back on the process, he is obviously a satisfied man, but at the same time a certain "logical-that-we-get-this-done" mindset prevails. "After all, we have managed to introduce several revolutionary products to the market in recent years that have proven to be a success time and again. I am thinking, for example, of the third seal at Gealan, which we were able to develop. But what about the double HVL, which was soon KOMO certified. This too could be credited to us a few years ago. Thirdly, I would of course mention the refinement of window frames with Realwood® and, of course, this list cannot include the RenoS9000® profile are missing. (Much has been written about that in previous editions of Profile, ed.)."

What's next? Henk and Didier have to laugh. "Of course we have thoughts about further developments. Innovation never stands still. We said it before. But the bottomline is actually very simple: we continue to listen to what the market is telling us. It's as simple as that. And in the end you then arrive at the best - and therefore - revolutionary solutions."
