Portfolio expands with vibrant oak decor

High-quality, decorative films add an extra dimension to windows, doors and door panels. They protect the profiles from the weather while giving them a distinctive look and feel. Tastes differ from year to year and country to country.

That's why at RENOLIT they follow developments closely and translate trends into new, innovative solutions. Witness the RENOLIT EXOFOL PFX Super-Matt, introduced in early 2020. These super-matt films, available in seven decors, combine a velvety surface with a deep, moving wood relief, making them barely different from real wood. The portfolio of decors is being expanded today to include a vibrant oak decor: Coriander Oak.

Exactly 75 years ago, the company RENOLIT started producing PVC sheets in the German city of Worms. Today, the company has become a renowned market leader in the field of plastic films and other plastic products. 

The seven employees at the start have now become more than 4,800, spread across thirty production facilities and sales offices in twenty countries worldwide. "Our films have been used for many years in a wide variety of applications, such as the automotive industry, the medical sector, maritime applications, wind energy, advertising and packaging, but especially also a lot in construction for both indoor and outdoor applications," says Hans van Gils, area sales manager RENOLIT Benelux BV. 

"Thus, with RENOLIT EXOFOL we offer a range of high-quality decorative films for window profiles, doors and door panels. The various colors, decors and surface textures open up many possibilities for both classic and modern environments: fresh solid colors, authentic wood grains, .... In addition, our Solar Shield Technology (SST) ensures that infrared radiation is reflected, significantly reducing the heating of the profiles and thus preserving their shape."

Focus on innovation

Innovation is in RENOLIT's genes. The R&D department is therefore engaged daily in optimizing existing products and developing innovative solutions. At the beginning of last year, for example, the specialist expanded its decors portfolio to include dark wood decors such as Cinnamon Oak, Amarath Oak and the black-brown Truffle Oak, as well as pastel and brown tones and the striking black tones Noir and Eisenglimmer Schwarz. 

"To respond to the trend toward a matte look, we also introduced RENOLIT EXOFOL PFX Super-Matt, a range of new films with a velvety, matte surface and a deep, moving wood relief. This product is based on the EXOFOL PX but with an additional PVDF layer, which not only helps define the Look and Feel, but also improves surface protection and increases resistance to chemicals, dirt, even graffiti," explains the area sales manager. "These super-matt, low-maintenance films are available in seven wood decors: Honey Oak, Ginger Oak, Pepper Oak and Weissbach Eiche.
Cinnamon Oak, Amarath Oak and Truffle Oak." 

New vibrant oak decor

Today, RENOLIT adds an eighth decor to this EXOFOL PFX portfolio, specifically the vibrant Coriander Oak. "This decor particularly stands out for its combination of a light brown base color with discreet gray nuances, resulting in an attractive, natural oak decor. Lighter and darker areas alternate and the characteristic knots in the pattern give this decor a rustic look," describes Hans van Gils. 

"The vibrancy is accentuated by a deep, smooth surface with wood grain texture, while the PVDF layer provides a distinctly smooth and velvety feel. This combination results in a wood film that is barely distinguishable from real wood."
