Dr. Hahn presents the new generation of Roller Strap Hinges

German hinge specialist Dr. Hahn presented no fewer than 4 new Rollband hinges to plastic door manufacturers this year. The emphasis is overwhelmingly on a very elegant appearance combined with high performance and load-bearing capacity. 

Different attachments

Two product lines offered under the designations KT-RKN and KT-RKV are available in both two-piece and three-piece. The difference is in the fixings. For example, the KT-RKN hinge is screwed into the overlay, with the advantage that the seal is not interrupted. The KT-RKV hinge is traditionally fixed in the hardware groove. 

Efficient processing in the workshop and at the construction site

The three-piece hinges carry up to 120 kg, while the 2-piece version goes up to 90 kg without any problems. Both types are attached by means of long pins and drilling screws. For wings up to 80 kg, Dr. Hahn offers the 2-piece alternative with short pins and drilling screws so that only the plastic needs to be pre-drilled. Even with the 3-piece hinges, hanging the sash in and out is very convenient. This is because the upper frame part can be easily removed without loosening the fixing screws. Thus, the sash can be hung in as with a 2-piece variant after which the additional frame part is reinstalled. Undeniably a very great added value for installers. If there is not enough space, the door leaf can be removed in the same way.

Just about all profile systems can be operated

When screwing up, it is important that the hinge fits nicely. The KT-RKN hinge is therefore offered with a straight wing part (0°) as well as with a bevelled radius (e.g. 5°). The door manufacturer can therefore choose from a very wide range of possibilities. Both product lines are suitable for overlap heights from 16.5 mm to 26 mm. A universally applicable drilling jig makes processing very easy.

3D adjustable

With all types, adjustment can be made in six directions, even with a hung sash:

• In height, the hinge can be adjusted +/- 3 mm;
• Horizontally, +/- 3 mm are also possible;
• For the sealing pressure, it is +/- 1.3 mm.

All variants can be used both DIN left and DIN right. The maximum opening is 180°.

Meets market demand

Even after infinitely adjusting the hinge - in all possible directions - the hinge remains nicely aligned, without gap formation. The knot diameter is 18 mm. The 2-piece hinges have a length of 144 mm, the 3-piece 189 mm. These hinges can also be supplied in all possible RAL colors, in combination with white or black plastic parts.

Dr. Hahn works exclusively with high-quality materials that can withstand extreme weather conditions and can also be used in coastal areas without any problems. 

CE verification

The products are CE certified to standard EN 1935:2002, with strap class 13 for 2-piece hinges, strap class 11 for 3-piece hinges. Both types are delivered pre-assembled and can be ordered in piece packaging as well as in 24 piece packaging. ′
