Value-added folding door systems

A folding door system without disturbing elements in the facade? With uninterrupted clear views and free passage? With Centor, it has been possible for years. The folding door system that has already won the prestigious Reddot Design Award once, now offers even more application possibilities.

Rob van Baars, commercial manager at Burghouwt, about Centor: "The top-hung E3 hardware of the Centor system allows more maximum height, more maximum width and a higher maximum door weight. This provides additional freedom on the facade. The fact that the Centor E3 hardware scores even better than before in recent tests benefits clients and users. Thanks to the results of the new tests, the maximum specifications of the folding door system can be adjusted upwards. With the E3 hardware, the maximum height for the Centor folding door system goes from three meters to 3.6 meters. The maximum width increases by 20 centimeters to 1.2 meters. The maximum allowable door weight also increases - from 100 to as much as 115 kilograms." Should this still not be enough, the E4 version offers possibilities. Here the maximum height is even 4 meters, the maximum width is 1.3 meters and the maximum permissible door weight even 160 kg.

The wholesaler supplies the Centor system with top-hung E3 and E4 hardware, or bottom-hung with the F3 hardware.

Extra leeway for own wishes and requirements

"These new values offer clients and users additional latitude to tailor a façade to their own needs and requirements. Then you can think, for example, of a more favorable door division or the application of triple glass." And it was not only the leeway with E3 fittings that increased. Burghouwt also complemented the sill program for Centor, with a new aluminum lower sill for the inside-folding, bottom-rolling F3 hardware. Complete with a special construction in the lower sill for drainage of (mop) water to the outside.

The secret of Centor

Unlike ordinary garden and patio doors in a traditional façade, Centor doors fold over a rail to the outer edges of the frame where the doors fold compactly together. This creates one seamless free passage in the facade. With a Centor façade, inside and outside merge uninterruptedly. The result: extra space experience and extra daylight in the interior. Centor folding doors can fold inward or outward. The guide system is low-maintenance, quiet and easy to operate. The system is wind and watertight and easily adjustable. Centor folding walls are suitable for homes, commercial and office buildings, stores and restaurants. The system can also be used as a partition wall in interiors.

Overhung and underhung

Burghouwt supplies the complete Centor folding system as a package of guides, hanging and running rollers, hinges, locks and edge sliders. The wholesaler supplies the Centor system with top-hung E3 and E4 hardware, or bottom-hung with the F3 hardware. The latter hardware offers plenty of application possibilities, according to Van Baars. "Heavy supporting structures are not necessary, and the Centor system can also be used with this hardware in facades with skylights, in annexes and in interior doors." With the under-roll Centor folding system, a door scheme of up to sixteen doors measuring 1.00 meters wide, 2.70 meters high and 80 kilograms is possible. Carpentry factories can use the Centor system for their own doors. Burghouwt supplies Centor with twinpoint lock for extra high doors, edge sliders or the self-developed BA2000. The BA2000 is a 'joinery-friendly' lock that can be operated with an attractive knob cylinder.
