Two sustainable toppers from Zelhem

New lower lintel for wooden window frames

During the last HoutPro+ in 's-Hertogenbosch, of course Window Technique was also present. In addition to a stylish presentation of the complete delivery program, the trade fair participation was dominated by the official presentation of the brand new VTD sill for wooden window frames made of glass fiber. It is a durable top product available in two variants with which the Zelhem manufacturer once again confirms its innovative and solution-oriented character.

The new VTD sill is an extension of the existing EEFD and EEFD+ program and will eventually replace them.

"Whereas our current lower sill range for wooden window frames is made of aluminum and a combination of fiberglass and aluminum, respectively, the VTD is instead composed entirely of fiberglass," says sales manager Herben Heino.

"As a result, we not only present a more durable solution, the new sill variant offers
also significantly higher insulation values."

Moreover, the flexible VTD, available in Prestige (for the full sill) and Excellent (hybrid) versions, does not differ from the existing EEFD and EEFD+ sills in terms of dimensions and processing method. "In addition, both versions are always delivered to size, completely pre-assembled and including the necessary fastening material," Heino continues. "Last but not least, the sills are also very easy and lightning fast to assemble thanks to the patented plug connection."

Excellent and Prestige

The VTD Excellent not only offers very significant advantages in terms of strength and stiffness of the joints. Also, on the inside of the window frame, you cannot see that a low-threshold sill is being used.

"Because of the construction, only the wooden frame remains visible," Heino clarifies. "This creates a beautiful aesthetic image on the inside. Furthermore, by using this wooden construction, the frame is stable from the moment it is locked in place. This simplifies the manufacturing process and results in less waste wood."

New technologies, such as the pulltrusion method, were at the heart of VTD Prestige. The result is a light, well-insulated and extremely stable basic sill system based on a width of 114 mm.

"Because any requested KVT rebate is executable on the lower sill, the lower sill on the outside continues in one line," Heino explains. "Something that also applies to the Excellent. Finally, we supply plastic protective caps as standard for both versions, which protect the moving parts during the construction phase without impeding the closing of the door."

The benefits of VTD

- isolates 64% better;

- available for 114 mm/139 mm frame lumber;

- dewatering is possible in two ways;

- certified by SHR-SKH;

- fire resistance 30 minutes.

Other novelties

During HoutPro+, -Venster Techniek also launched the new lever lock with hooks, a solution that guarantees a more efficient finish and a tighter aesthetic appearance. Its official launch depends on the yet-to-be obtained SKG standardization. It is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2023.

At the same time, the sills specialist announced that the software house -Matrix is in the process of building an export module. This will make it possible to enter new orders automatically into the ordering portal of Venster Techniek. After verification (by Window Technology), an order is immediately ready for production. The development of this link is currently in the test phase and will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2023.
