Our contemporary architecture is characterized by large windows. So for certain projects, architects and building owners are increasingly opting for aluminum windows, doors and façade systems. To complement its plastic range, Deceuninck launched an aluminum range with Decalu. Today, the specialist expands this range with Decalu F50 Facade, an ultra-slim aluminum glass facade system with a view width of only 50 mm. This new development scores highly in terms of thermal insulation and can be easily combined with all other frames and doors in the Decalu family. With a limited number of different profiles, the most diverse projects can thus be realized.
Deceuninck continuously invests in the optimization of existing products and the development of new profile systems. Innovation is in the West Flemish company's genes. Witness to this is, among other things, Decalu. The unique concept of these aluminum profiles, developed according to the patented So Easy technology, consists of one inner frame with equal middle section and slim profiles, pre-mounted seals in frame, sash and glazing bar and integrated thermal insulation in the profiles. Since this system consists of only three components, without a central middle seal, the production time per window is reduced by at least 50 %.
"With this range, we offer our partners a complete offer for all aluminum windows, doors and sliding windows: strong and durable, color and shapefast, stable and easy to maintain. Moreover, they have a long service life and are 100% recyclable. They are equipped with pre-integrated seals and invisible drainage," states technical manager Eddy Moreels. "Today we are going one step further and adding with Decalu F50 Facade a glass facade system with a face of only 50 mm, ideal for projects where one wants to achieve sleek facades with large glass areas."
Just like Deceuninck's other solutions, this façade system was technically thought out and developed down to the smallest details. To be able to realize larger glass panes, the profile is thickened in strategic, invisible places and unique glass supports make it possible to carry glazing up to even 1000 kg effortlessly.
"We deliberately chose aluminum over steel reinforcements because they guarantee better thermal insulation and can be assembled more quickly. Pre-applied rubbers provide better conductivity, allowing the aluminum reinforcements to be smoothly integrated," explains the technical manager.
"In terms of insulation, the Decalu F50 Facade meets the requirements of today and tomorrow. Moreover, we developed a High Insulation version, in which a preformed, insulating foam replaces the plastic strips. While the standard version records a Uf value of 1.4 W/m²K, the HI version achieves a value of 0.78 W/m²K."
Deceuninck has also paid great attention to the finishing of the profiles. This is not only due to the view width of only 50 mm. After all, the system also allows all Decalu windows and doors to be effortlessly incorporated into the façade.
"Specially developed plastic joints allow the stiles to connect better to the rails, allowing saw cuts on the inside to be more neatly concealed and no blank aluminum to be visible. Thanks to corner joints, couplings for glass-on-glass and numerous clip variants, architects are really given free rein in terms of design," Moreels concludes. "Moreover, we offer manufacturers and installers an extremely flexible solution, allowing them to realize the most diverse projects with only a limited number of different profiles."
