Weekamp Deuren and social work company Reestmond intensify and extend their cooperation in the field of circular door recycling. With this step, both organizations are entering the next phase: the structural and larger-scale recycling of wooden doors within the construction and renovation chain. Discarded doors will thus be given a second life as raw material for new, high-quality doors.
The collaboration builds on a long-term development path in which Weekamp Deuren has been working on circular wood applications since 2016. In collaboration with knowledge partners, including TNO, extensive knowledge has been built up on reusing wood, doors and return flows.
An important milestone was reached in 2017, when the first door was produced from recycled wood. Since then, the process has been further optimized, with the result that fewer and fewer old doors are needed to produce a new door. With the renewed cooperation, this approach is now being scaled up and structurally embedded in the chain.

Within the cooperation, Reestmond plays a central role. At the site in Havelte, doors and frames that are released are carefully dismantled and made suitable for reuse. Wooden parts are stripped of fittings, glass and other materials, cleaned and made to measure.
This work is performed by employees distanced from the labor market, who thereby gain valuable work experience in a safe and instructive environment. The collaboration thus combines circular entrepreneurship with social impact and offers the prospect of further scaling up within the region.
From April 14, 2026, Weekamp Deuren will introduce an important step towards circular construction: all new quotations from then on, will include the promise that returned doors will be recycled free of charge.
Recycling costs are borne entirely by Weekamp. Non-wood materials are responsibly separated and disposed of via specialist Greenwaste. The wood is then reprocessed by finger-welding and laminating into a stable, high-quality raw material for new doors.
This move aligns with the sustainability vision of parent company Deli Home, which was recently certified as a B Corp.

The reclaimed wood is used in the BioComfort door, a product consisting largely of recycled and bio-based material. This door is now widely used, particularly by housing associations that are fulfilling their circular and social objectives.
Weekamp Deuren's circular doors are produced within the regular production process and meet the same quality and performance requirements as standard doors.
The doors are KOMO-certified and come with a six-year GND warranty. The wood used has an FSC® Recycled certificate, guaranteeing both quality and origin.
The renewed collaboration between Weekamp Deuren and Reestmond shows how circular building and social entrepreneurship can go hand in hand. By reusing high-quality materials and at the same time investing in people, a sustainable model is created with impact on the environment, economy and society.
