VKG introduces new executive structure and announces succession of managing director

VKG Keurmerk, trade association for plastic facade elements, is preparing for the future with a revamped board structure. Ahead of the retirement of current director Albert Zegelaar in February 2026, the board has opted for a renewed, two-headed management structure. With this, VKG Keurmerk is responding to the growing complexity and opportunities within the industry.

Two-man management for greater focus and clout

The plastic window frame industry faces major challenges as well as opportunities. The opportunities in the project market are increasing, the need for a strong and unambiguous industry positioning is growing, and the lobby for bio-based materials is intensifying. At the same time, the industry faces increasing complexity in laws and regulations and the circular façade economy is growing in size.

To address these issues in a focused and decisive manner, the VKG board is opting for a two-headed board:

  • General and commercial director - Responsible for commercial development, positioning and advocacy.
  • Technical and operational director - Responsible for technical, content and operational files within the industry.

With this structure, VKG continues to build a future-proof industry with valuable growth for member companies.

Arjen Veltman new general - commercial director

The board appoints Arjen Veltman as general - commercial director and Edwin van Houten as technical - operations director effective February 1, 2026. Arjen succeeds Albert Zegelaar and brings extensive experience from the building materials sector. As co-founder of Moso International - world market leader in bamboo building materials - he held various management positions in purchasing, sales, R&D and marketing.

Arjen Veltman:
“In the bamboo industry, I had a clear ambassador role: a relatively new material had to prove itself among established building products. The parallels with plastic window frames are great. Quality, reliability and visibility are crucial. I look forward to working with members and partners to further strengthen the position of plastic window frames and expand the industry.

Edwin van Houten technical - operations director

Edwin van Houten will continue his work at VKG Keurmerk from February 1, 2026 in the new position of technical - operational director. Edwin has been active in the facade industry for 39 years in various positions. In 2023 he made the transition from Executive Manager Window Solutions Benelux at REHAU to branch manager at VKG. In this role, he successfully used his broad technical expertise and years of experience to strengthen the industry and promote circularity. In his new position, Edwin will have responsibility for the technical content and operational themes affecting our industry, further expanding his valuable contribution to the development of the industry.

Getting acquainted during general membership meeting

At the general membership meeting on December 9, Arjen Veltman will personally introduce himself to VKG members.
