The past Construction Fair was actually the baptism of fire for both companies. Sharing a booth together. That went so well, that Venster Techniek and Themans join forces again to be present at the upcoming Polyclose.
A conversation with Jurgen Rensen, owner of Venster Techniek from Zelhem and Bert van Lieshout, managing director at Themans from Deventer. They serve the same target group, Venster Techniek with unsurpassed sills, Themans with ditto hinges and locks.
Themans is a specialist in lift-slide door hardware; in stainless steel, aluminum and color!
Van Lieshout opens the conversation: "Themans and Venster Techniek have been working together for some time. When participation in the Bouwbeurs came on the table, we were pretty quick to decide: we have to approach this together. After all, we have a similar market focus. We serve the same industry, have the same scale as companies and complement each other in various areas." Added Rensen: "We are also in the same region, the physical distance between our companies is not great. Add to that the fact that we are both not averse to customer-oriented solutions and the picture is complete."
Window Technology uses, to a large extent, the hardware of
Themans. "We see each other as partners. Therefore, it will not surprise anyone that Themans is an R&D partner in the development of our tight-fitting wooden doors. Our concept for application of wooden doors in plastic frames is a credit that comes from a collaboration between Window Technology, Themans and KEGRO doors."
When asked what novelties the gentlemen are taking with them to Ghent, Rensen replied, "Our focus there is on the plastic market. We will present there our new sill for lift-slide doors. We came up with a solution specifically for Gealan, with a special seal. That solution came about because of market demand. We have been producing sills for wooden doors and sliding doors for years. However, we did not yet have a total solution for plastic. That meant that when an entire house was fitted with our sills, another solution always had to be found for a lift-slide door. Customers let us know that they would like to see Window Technology used there as well. We have now responded to that."
Van Lieshout says of Themans: "We are also there with innovations. For double doors, we have a great solution in hinges and locks, which I am not yet allowed to explain. The scoop is really meant to be unveiled at Polyclose itself. Furthermore, we can report that we are showing hardware in several appealing colors. We have invested in developing hardware that is easy to powder-coat. We are also showing the upgrade our stainless steel handles have had, not forgetting the hardware. More beautiful, even higher quality."
Also at Polyclose, visitors will soon be welcomed to a well-equipped booth.
"We use Themans' bowl handles at Window Technology, in our wood sliding doors," says Rensen. "Their program is beautiful and widely applicable." Van Lieshout explains: "We supply bowl handles in both stainless steel and aluminum. The trick with our bowls is that the customer can choose from two 'flavors.' First, there is the bowl that is recessed into the door and lies extra flat with the profile on the outside. The second bowl is an upright variant, with the advantage that it does not require a milled space in the door profile. That's nice for the processor."
Rensen adds: "With a double door, you then have no worries about differences in the dimensions. Moreover, such an overlapping bowl is very 'forgiving'; it can be corrected afterwards."
The corresponding lift-slide handles come standard with core pull protection. "Quite safe," says Rensen. "And certainly also distinctive." For Themans and Venster Techniek, the upcoming Polyclose promises to be another pleasant collaboration. "We will be there for the second time and Venster Techniek for the fourth or fifth time," suggests Van Lieshout. In conclusion, Rensen says, "Because we are not competitive and complement each other in serving the same target group, we can speak of a nice cross-pollination."
