Profine Nederland has been active on the new construction and renovation market since 1969 with low-maintenance plastic products for the outer shell of buildings. As part of the profine Group GmbH, global market leader in plastic profiles, the company focuses on sustainability, circularity and innovation in terms of its operations, methods and products. The most current proof of this is K-VISION ReFrame, the world's first circular plastic window frame composed of 100% recycled material. With this, Profine Netherlands, which operates from Waardenburg, has a world first.
Profine Netherlands likes to make a difference. Especially when it comes to sustainability and circularity. Around the production and marketing of the K-VISION frames, the company therefore justifiably uses the slogan "A view of a better world". The K-VISION frame profiles are already a sustainable product consisting partly of recycled materials as standard, with
K-VISION ReFrame takes the plastic window manufacturer a big step further.
"After an intensive two-year development process, we applied this revolutionary 100% circular plastic window frame for the first time in 2020 during a large-scale renovation project in Amsterdam," says Jelmer Bijlsma, director of profine Netherlands. "A world first that has been followed up gloriously through several other projects, especially in the Netherlands and Germany. Interest in the invention, like our other products available through a carefully constructed network of qualified partners, is growing rapidly."
The K-VISION ReFrame frame profiles are the epitome of sustainability and circularity in several respects. "They represent a closed material cycle and thus full conservation of natural resources," continues Bijlsma. "A real usp, since this product possesses the same functional properties as conventional plastic window frames."
But it doesn't stop there. The frame profiles are also characterized by a luxurious UV-resistant surface, high-quality technical properties and a high thermal insulation value. And the novelty also has everything to offer visually. For example, the window frames are finished with Profine's innovative color system proCoverTec, which ensures a luxurious, matte and high-quality appearance. At the same time, this technology improves technical product properties, including UV resistance and IR reflection. All this results in a minimum lifespan of 50 years and contributes to the fact that the raw materials can be recycled again and again.
Since its introduction, K-VISION ReFrame has already received several commendations. In 2020, for example, Profine was the first system supplier to receive the Kiwa Covenant Circular Enterprise, a certificate that gives clients the assurance that their customer's circular process is guaranteed. Last June, Bijlsma and his people were awarded the prestigious Rethink Award in the recycling category.
With this award, the Federation NRK and PlasticsEurope Netherlands reward the best and most effective products and processes in the field of sustainability and circularity.
"The professional jury unanimously agreed that with K-VISION we are emphatically ahead of the troops and playing an important pioneering role," says Bijlsma proudly. "According to the report, the product is completely in line with this generation of building: light, durable and low maintenance. These are welcome aspects toward achieving the ultimate goal: the Netherlands circular in 2050."
