15 years of pioneering in wind-resistant exterior cloth awnings

Renson's Fixscreen cloth awning is turning 15! No better time to celebrate than on January 15, 2020 at Polyclose, together with all partners and 'Ambassadors' who contributed to its success. With a look back to 2005, when Renson entered the market with Fixscreen as a pioneer in wind-resistant cloth awnings, but above all: with an eye to the future. Because the Fixscreen still has many years to go: building on the unique properties of yesteryear, but up to date with the needs of today and the future. Renson is launching the Fixscreen Minimal ... as the next step in the already rich Fixscreen history, good for at least another 15 years of market leadership!

2005: the very beginning

Let's go back to 2005, when Renson launched the Fixscreen on the market. At the time, it distinguished itself as an exterior awning primarily in terms of wind resistance. As the first fabric awning of its kind in which the fabric zippers into two side guides when lowered, the wind resistance (in every position) of this type of outdoor awning suddenly took off. No more rattling and torn screens, long live tight fabric tension! Another good thing is that since then, insects don't have a chance to get in when windows are left open at night for intensive ventilation - with the fabric down. That it was the most efficient way against indoor overheating made sense even then. But the higher wind resistance of screens means that since then they can also come out with a much longer lifespan.

Since then, window sections have only been getting larger, and the importance of dynamic sun protection such as this has only increased: in winter and mid-season, you can make the most of the free solar heat, while, with the screens up in summer, you prevent it from heating up too much indoors. Moreover, the view to the outside - even with the screens lowered - is always maintained, an asset that should not be underestimated, as it soon turned out.

Cloth awnings for any type of window

Innovative as Renson was even then, the Fixscreen technology soon formed the basis of numerous new developments to also equip other than standard windows (admittedly up to extremely large dimensions of no less than 22 m²) with fabric sun protection: from veranda roofs and roof windows (Topfix and Topfix Max), whether or not combined with ventilation (Fixvent) to corner (sliding) windows (Panovista and Panovista Max) and sliding windows (Slidefix). Each of them distinguishes itself in true Fixscreen tradition in durability, wind resistance (up to 130km/h for Fixscreen, 90km/h for Panovista Max), Fixscreen zipper technology (with a 7-year warranty) and Smooth-technology for noiseless movement and fixation of the screens in the side guides, and the 'Connect&Go' system for easy (de)mounting of the target roller in the cabinet.
