People in Japan want to "get back to nature" and strive to "spend more time outdoors. Despite the fact that fewer and fewer new homes are being built, there is a huge market for high-end outdoor solutions. That is exactly why LIXIL and Renson are now joining forces for both the residential, and commercial markets. Together they want to offer people high-end Outdoor solutions and give them the opportunities to spend more time outdoors. Lixil will launch Renson's Camargue Skye in Japan in fall 2019 under the name "Garden Annex" and will be part of the EXSIOR brand.
"Creating and delivering high-quality products for our customers is what this collaboration is all about," said Satoshi Yoshida, CEO LIXIL Housing Technology Japan. "As the number of newly built homes in Japan begins to decline, we need to redefine our business domains toward sustainable growth," he explained. "LIXIL wants to create emotional value and offer products to high-end customers." In their search for a product that met this requirement, Renson came into the picture with their high-end outdoor living concepts. LIXIL wants to link that top global technology with its Japanese know-how to achieve its goal.
"We first met LIXIL at the international R+T fair in 2015," recalls Paul Renson (CEO Renson). "Since then, we have established a relationship of trust. At both companies, innovation and high-end design are part of our DNA. I am therefore very proud to announce our collaboration today. We share the same mission when it comes to comfortable living and both also want to offer total outdoor concepts instead of individual products. Therefore, we see huge potential in this new cooperation to launch our outdoor solutions in Japan."
Paul Renson continues, "For Renson, co-development with other like-minded, strong brands is very important. That's why we also work with companies like Velux, Barco, Schüco, LG and Somfy. We believe in 'open innovation' between our brands. This keeps us innovating and growing together internationally.
Takeshi Iohara, General Manager Exterior Business Division LIXIL Housing Technology Japan: "Outdoor living has been around for 30 years in Japan. People need 'special spaces connected to nature.' That is why we are launching the Renson Camargue Skye this fall under the name 'Garden Annex.' Garden Annex will be part of the Exsior brand in Japan." This patio cover is equipped with a slat roof. The slats can rotate, allowing people to protect themselves from both the sun, and rain. But, you can also slide the slats fully open to enjoy full sunlight during the day or starry skies at night. Thanks to an app on a smartphone or tablet, you can control the slats. Furthermore, the Renson Skye can also be equipped with wind-resistant screens, speakers, heating elements and LED lighting. This way we can offer customers the perfect Outdoor experience all year long.
