Surface-mounted roller shutters continue to be one of the most popular and frequently proposed solutions for application in new construction. This is mainly because installation of this type of roller shutter is relatively and fast and easy since the shutter box is pre-positioned on the window frame using a suitable adaptation profile compatible with the window profile. Therefore, Aluprof SA - given the ever-growing interest in this system - has been focusing for several years on the further development of a top product : the SKT Opoterm system.

SKT Opoterm is a universal and highly multifunctional product that allows installation without recessed, with partial recessed or full recessed, because the front side of the cabinet can at the same time also be the substrate for any finishes (e.g., polystyrene, plaster, clinker, etc.), thus integrating fully into the facade.

However, not all countries apply similar construction technologies. To meet the needs of the French market in particular, it was necessary to develop new options for this system. Therefore, the SKT Opoterm Reno and SKT Opoterm Monobloc versions were designed.

The first variant came about because it is very common in France to use old window frames that are not dismantled during renovation, since they are a load-bearing element of the building's structure. In this case, the shutter box is cut in the shape of the letter "Z", which allows it to be adapted to all versions of renovation frames on the market with a fin size from 25 mm to 110 mm. SKT Opoterm Monobloc, in turn, is intended for use in buildings whose walls were insulated on the inside and the window joinery was mounted in the insulation layer making it necessary to use special profiles, the so-called monobloc.

Furthermore, the new variant Opoterm Nova has also been brought into the Aluprof range. In this, the location of the integrated mosquito window has been changed and is placed under the rolling shutter blade and thus closer to the window profile.
