Introduction of new fire and smoke rated Kegro Doors.

Introducing new fire and smoke rated Kegro Doors.

Residential entrance doors in residential buildings must comply with this, both in new construction and conversion. In addition, all these doors must be self-closing with (freewheeling) door closers. Kegro Deuren's BW concept offers an effective answer to the market demand and these new requirements for 30 or 60-minute fire-resistant doors.

Fire test 1

To come to the right choice of fire and smoke door, we always make a custom specific offer. This avoids surprises after the contract has been awarded and we say what we do and do what we say! Kegro stands by the client in word and deed throughout the construction phase.

A major advantage after Kegro Deuren's new certification is that the required fire resistance, in almost all cases, is achieved without modifications to the wooden frame (if made of pine or timbers ≥500 kg at 30-min and ≥700 kg at 60-min). All fire-resistant features are included in the door itself. The frame no longer needs to be thickened, so free passage is guaranteed while maintaining the certificate. This means that Kegro fire-resistant doors can be used in standard KVT frames with a rebate of 17 mm without compromising functional performance.

Door-Frame Connection

Kegro Doors manufactures the door leaf, however in the event of fire the total element of door-frame and frame connection to the wall must meet the requirements. The range of Kegro fire doors is therefore fully matched to standard KVT frame details with 17mm rebates or, where possible, even slimmer.

The joinery manufacturer can produce the frames with sidelights and skylights, using the Kegro certificate. For this, all detail drawings are available in the Technical Documentation and processing instructions at kegro.co.uk.

Fire resistant and insulating

Unique is our 60-min fire-resistant, insulating, flat exterior door. This not only meets the EW-60 classification, but also has a U-value of approx. 1.0 W/m²K. This 60mm thick door is suitable for normal KVT 17mm rebate frames.

Smokeproof

In order to meet smoke resistance requirements, it is very important that the door connects airtight to the frame. As a result of the hot smoke, the door leaf may not deform to such an extent that the seal does not close sufficiently. Performance Sa and S200 are therefore largely an interplay between door leaf type, profiling, frame rebate and seals. A Sa or S200 performance is known for all flat Kegro (interior) doors and solid interior and exterior doors.

Complete assortment

The choice of models and designs in 30 and 60 minutes Kegro fire and smoke resistant doors is very wide; Flat or solid doors with EW-30 and EW-60 classification for wooden frames, with and without sidelights or fanlights. In addition to the rich

choice of standard models, luxury design models with decorative mouldings, design grooves, bulkheads and bossing panels are also available on request. The doors can be finished with our top opaque coating system, an HPL top layer or a clear lacquered oak or mahogany noble veneer. In addition to a wide choice of hinges and locks, extras such as a sill, spy eye, letter slot, (freewheeling) door closer, electric locks, locking plates and cable entry are possible. Plenty of choice.
