Good connections are important. This is true for people and companies, using their networks to gather information and lay the groundwork for possible orders and contracts. Similarly, software is not top-notch until it can interact with other programs present in a company. Interfaces with other software solutions are therefore at the top of the wish list. LogiKal, sometimes called the digital all-rounder, allows window manufacturers, door manufacturers and facade builders to design and produce products and projects efficiently. With its easy connection to other software packages, LogiKal is the "beating" heart of the day-to-day operations of these manufacturing companies.
LogiKal is used daily by window manufacturers, door manufacturers and facade builders to plan and produce their products: from design through estimation, quotation, engineering and work preparation to intelligent machine control. Calculating stability, making connections or determining joints: everything is possible. In addition, the software offers users an integrated CAD solution and various standard interfaces to all known machine tools and to various ERP and CAD systems. For many manufacturing companies, LogiKal therefore forms the heart of their IT operations.
During the Gevel trade fair, taking place from May 31 to June 2 in Utrecht, Orgadata let visitors discover for themselves how smoothly LogiKal communicates with other software packages.
"Stand 04.D020 is dedicated to the cooperation between Orgadata and ISD software and the linking of LogiKal with the drawing program HiCAD. Visitors there can experience how easy it is to create a workpiece in our LogiKal software and then use the 3D capabilities of HiCAD in the drawing. The connection between the two software packages runs via a so-called bi-directional real-time interface, allowing them to exchange information almost automatically. If one changes a certain dimension or parameter in Logikal, the drawing in HiCAD also adapts without additional action. This is also the case in the opposite direction," says Paul Thyssen of Orgadata.
"This is possible because both software programs use data from Logikal's database. This real-time communication reduces the number of steps in a production process, because not every operator has to enter data himself. Everyone works with the same data, saving time and reducing the risk of errors."
Visitors at Gevel can also get acquainted with the latest version of the software: LogiKal 12. According to the developers at Orgadata, this is the best and most user-friendly version ever put on the market. They have completely re-created the software package. The project center, the heart of the program, was completely revamped. 3D visualization is used for input, and the operating concept was also improved. And these are just a few examples of optimizations. The Orgadata team also paid a lot of attention to the look and feel of the software. Everything is only getting clearer. This is ensured, among other things, by the new icons in the program, which make it very simple for the user.
"The latest version of LogiKal looks like MS-Office. After all, users are already familiar with the way those programs work. The software may look completely different, but it will still immediately feel familiar to the user," states Paul Thyssen. "One should not be put off by the changes, because version 12 of the software is even faster and more intuitive to use. All the different functions can be easily found in the new layout. Those who were able to work with the previous version will be able to handle this new LogiKal 12 without any problems, because the logic behind both versions is the same."
