SIEGENIA views spatial comfort with an all-round view. Responding to trends such as connectivity and mobility, the company develops new, smart solutions every day. Also when it comes to access control. Thanks to innovative Smart Home features, residents and managers alike can control, lock and/or monitor their doors even more centrally. Moreover, the systems can be easily operated remotely or on the go.
Remote operation of the access control system is a powerful addition to the SIEGENIA Comfort App, says Frank Dijkhof, technical commercial consultant at KFV, part of the SIEGENIA Group. "The app could already be operated via the local WLAN network (Wi-Fi), but thanks to Smart Home applications, remote operation is now also possible. You no longer have to be in range of your own home to manage the Smart Home installations."
Authorized persons can access their building(s) at any time and from any place, he emphasizes. "On their smartphone or tablet, for example, they can easily create a PIN code that allows guests to access their vacation home. But also a pin code that allows construction or maintenance parties to enter the home within a certain time frame, without you as a resident having to stay home for this. Or a PIN code with which (home) care workers can easily enter the home if residents are unable to walk to the door themselves. And so there are numerous other possibilities imaginable. PIN codes can be changed or revoked at any time. In addition, administrators/residents can receive automatic push notifications (feedback messages) as soon as door activity is detected. As a result, security and comfort come together perfectly. Administrators and residents remain in control anytime, anywhere."
SIEGENIA's digital access control systems (keypad, fingerprint scanner and transponder) combine smart convenience functions with elegant and sleek design, easy operation and secure access management. "SIEGENIA developed the keypad and fingerprint scanner specifically for Smart Home applications in private residential construction," said Dijkhof. "Major advantages of the keypad and finger scanner are comprehensive access registration, clear user management and sophisticated time control. Also, the color on the keypad/finger scanner is easy to adjust, thanks to 10 color LEDs. As a result, the technology blends seamlessly into the color scheme of the door and/or the architecture of the building." The transponder represents an ideal solution for business properties in particular.
The digital access control systems also fetch high marks in processing and assembly. "The access control systems feature identical milling dimensions. Moreover, they can be easily and directly connected to the KFV motor lock, without the need for separate control units," said Dijkhof. "Uncomplicated wiring and unique plug-and-play plug connections guarantee effective and error-free installation. As desired, network connections for Smart-Home scenarios can be easily realized, such as integration of the front door into the alarm system. An I/O module also enables the control of third-party components."
If desired, the SIEGENIA Comfort App can also be used to conveniently and intuitively control SIEGENIA Smart Home window controls, lift-slide technology, fans and sensors. This is how Smart living is taken to the very highest level.
