Supplier of aluminum profiles for construction excels in customization

When a company has been supplying a full range of aluminum profiles for the construction industry for more than 50 years, it proves its added value to the industry well. Luvema^® from Wageningen is therefore the partner of choice for many construction companies.

"In addition to our very extensive program of profiles for all types of applications, we are very strong in customization. We make customer-specific profiles on demand, with the guarantee that they are delivered in the same quality and with the same service as the rest of our program," Klaren opens the conversation.

Building energy efficient with a custom sill? You can!
"For energy-efficient construction, we have the new ISOWEL^® assortment developed. This line includes fiberglass-reinforced lower sills designed for the plastic and wood frame industries. There are also ISOWEL^® stop and glazing profiles," Klaren continued. "We have been working with the ISOWEL^® sills very flexible in composition, on request we deliver a custom product. We also do that with aluminum sills, we make custom molds for that."

Toeboards are available for different wood heights.

Asked for an example of a custom aluminum sill, Klaren mentions the cooperation that Luvema^® has with Burghouwt: "Burghouwt, the wholesaler for the building industry in the Netherlands, supplies Centor folding doors. We have developed an aluminum sill for the Centor system. We produce and supply it, but it is a specific Burghouwt product." Rob van Baars, commercial manager at Burghouwt, outlines, "The aluminum sills that Luvema^® supplies for the Centor folding wall hardware are produced in four versions, for every type of folding door. Looking at the versions, we distinguish an interior folding, an exterior folding, a top-hanging and a bottom-rolling variant. With the Centor system, which offers unique advantages over other folding doors, we are unique as an importer."

Powerful deployment
Van Baars is very pleased with the strength of the Luvema^® delivered sills. "There are sills processed in showrooms that cars drive over with no problem. The sills are well suited to be incorporated into pavement to create the lowest possible relief. All top features that prove how high quality this product is."

All common machining operations are possible with the Center sill. Van Baars mentions, among other things, Monastery and renovation rebates and miters. It can all be made. Rebates for different wood heights are available and the sill can be combined with fixed-glass surfaces next to the folding wall, on the same sill. For both interior and exterior glazing. Furthermore, special blocks can be fitted for the purpose of all types of closures." Added Klaren: "This sill has a very low coefficient of expansion, namely 2.4E-05 per Kelvin which translates as 2.4×10-5 or 0.000024mm per degree." Asked about developments still in the pipeline, Van Baars replied, "With Centor, we offer a complete and mature solution. Developments in particular are further refinements. Regarding the sill: we are investigating together with Luvema^® further developments that we may also be able to use with the Centor system.
