Door hardware gives the finishing touch

Nobility obliges, Sindy Klunder must have thought. Sindy is an interior designer and owner of The Wolthuis Interior & Design. It therefore goes without saying that she had set the bar high when designing her new, modern home and office space in Ommen. At the fair Architect@work Sindy came in contact with the products of Intersteel and was immediately sold. The house is now equipped with beautiful door fittings of Intersteel, made of stainless steel.

Dedem Architecture from Dedemsvaart designed the house, which is situated in the outskirts of Ommen. A beautiful and modern designed building, where it is spacious and comfortable to live and work, in an inspiring environment. Sindy herself designed and executed the interior. In harmony with the modern design and applied materials, the choice fell on the high-quality and modern door fittings of Intersteel. Stainless steel hardware with flat magnetic roses from the Bau-stil series.

Minimalist and aesthetic appearance

"For my home, I was looking for door hardware with a minimalist look that shows slim in appearance. This latch with rosette fits that perfectly," outlines Sindy. The door handle garniture with the subtle, flat rosettes of only 3 mm thickness is invisibly attached to the door leaf. Completely in style, invisible hinges are also used and the door locks are fitted with magnetic latch locks. Nicer, quieter and safer. The latter due to the fact that no latch bolt protrudes from the door when the door is open. Closing is silent and comfortable.

"By the magnetic lock there is also no need for an inset in the frame, which contributes to that clean look," Sindy said. "In my work, I often look for contrasts and try to make the right combination of materials in that. The ceiling-high doors and the sleek door hardware are a great example of that." The sight of the minimalist designed hardware on the beautiful wooden doors, in wooden frames, is surprisingly subtle and produces an understated result.

Completely in style, invisible hinges are also used and the door locks are fitted with
magnetic day shots.
