The development, import and sale of quality building hardware systems, especially for doors and windows, has been the specialty of J.P.M. Kok since 1935. In close cooperation with its suppliers, the family business strives to provide customized service to customers with a diverse range of solutions. One of these are the sealing profiles of Schlegel, world market leader in the field of seals, draft strips and extrusions. Frank Kok, who runs the company with his brother Genio, explains.
The world of building hardware hardly holds any secrets for the Soester trading company. Since the start, a great deal of expertise and experience has been accumulated that is still useful to the flexible Kok team every day. And the product range has also grown steadily over the years. Anno 2022, J.P.M. Kok offers an extensive and diverse assortment of top quality hardware. "You have come to the right place for door and window hardware systems, as well as window handles, accessories and sealing profiles," Kok lists. "All of these are quality products that we source purely from renowned manufacturers, including Habo, Winlock, GSG, Frank Allart, Reguitti and Schlegel. We also market a wide range of hardware with our own label Hako."
There is no shortage of big names at Kok, as it turns out. One of the toppers is the aforementioned Schlegel. Under the Tyman Group umbrella, the brand focuses on the development and production of high-quality sealing systems for aluminum, wooden and PVC windows and doors, shutters and curtain walls. Solutions that fully comply with the European standard EN 12363 2003 and ensure that window and door systems are allowed to carry the CE mark.
"Schlegel's supply program has three product groups," says Kok. "In addition to extruded seals and polybond brush seals, an invention that made the brand big, Schlegel has been a manufacturer of Q-Lon polyurethane foam seals for more than 50 years. Composed of a unique combination of materials, this variant stands for unmatched technical performance compared to other seal materials. Even under the most extreme conditions."
For example, the seal has an excellent memory: after long-term printing, it resumes its original shape without problems. In addition, the Q-Lon available in different colors is characterized by a very high stability and ditto acoustic performance.
"Furthermore, the product has the characteristic of not shrinking or expanding thanks to a polypropylene profile backing," Kok said. "Last but not least, the smooth polyethylene film ensures that the seal is optimally resistant to dirt, mold, UV light, paint and stain, among other things."
