New fire safety certificates for Bostik Fire Protect

Manufacturer of adhesive and sealing solutions Bostik Benelux holds new certificates for Bostik Fire Protect. The main properties of the products for linear joints FP 401 Fireseal Acrylic, FP 402 Fireseal Silicone, FP 403 Fireseal Hybrid and FP 404 Fire Retardent PU (Gun)Foam have now been laid down in an ETA. They also have UL-EU certification and meet the SBI test fire class B. Bostik was the first in the Netherlands to obtain the SBI certificate for fire safety for these types of products.

The SBI test (Single Burning Item) organizes building and insulation materials into fire and smoke classes according to European standards. Bostik Fire Protect FP 401 Fireseal Acrylic, FP 402 Fireseal Silicone, FP 403 Fireseal Hybrid and FP 404 Fire Retardent PU (Gun)Foam for linear joints of silicone, acrylates, hybrids and foams meet the SBI fire class B: reaction to fire. The products now also meet the Dutch standard NEN 6075:2020 smoke resistance. This demanding certification for fire safety of these products is extra special because Bostik is the first in the Netherlands with it.

ETA and UL-EU certification

The most important properties of these Bostik Fire Protect products for linear joints were also recently documented in an ETA. With a voluntary European Technical Approval (ETA), Bostik established the most important properties of the products. And took another step towards wider acceptance of the products.
Also, the products now have UL-EU certification; a voluntary seal valid for all products for which an EN standard exists and which are exported within and outside the European market.

In accordance with the Buildings Decree and EU standards

Bostik Fire Protect is a complete range of passive fire protection products for linear joints and penetrations. The strength is the wide certification, they already meet the well-known industrial certifications. The recently obtained certificates are new proof of the high quality and safety of the products.
