Presentation of new concept for plastic window frames

Meanwhile, Martijn van Dort is firmly in the saddle. The new director of FUHR Benelux BV took office on June 1 of this year and has set a clear course. The first achievements will be shown at Polyclose 2022, and we can already get a glimpse of what's to come. We speak with Martijn van Dort and product manager Marco Pels.

Scoop for plastic window frames

This is the sixth time for FUHR Benelux to be at Polyclose. "This time with a great first for plastic window frames," says Van Dort. "We are launching a new concept, where processors can use all of FUHR's applications from one milling model."

Pels adds, "This includes our entire range of key- and crank-operated locks, as well as our autosafe program. One milling size for the locking parts and the locking frames. Motor operation does require additional milling."

This concept has already proven its success with FUHR's wood and aluminum program and is now being used for plastic. Van Dort: "We see that the Netherlands is becoming more and more 'PVC-minded', both in renovation and new construction. As a specialist, we believe we should be able to serve all groups. This concept allows the plastics processor to work more easily and efficiently." 

Pels: "Of course, we provide the necessary data to the well-known software houses."

Developed from strategic thinking

"We are tackling this in a broad way, initiated from a strategic idea," Van Dort explains. "Processors - I think - become very happy with this. It does require a different way of working, but you soon reap the benefits." Pels adds, "Processors can still use their old milling images, but also adapt to the new shape." 

With the introduction of this concept, FUHR aims to close the gap to automatic locking. FUHR will show the entire concept in both aluminum and PVC at the booth.

SmartTouch

FUHR is also introducing the public to SmartTouch at Polyclose. Pels: "SmartTouch is present on a wooden door. The door registers the presence of a SmartTouch transponder one carries in one's pocket. It suffices to touch the door handle to gain access. The transponder can also function as a handheld transmitter. The detection distance is customizable and with the push of a button on the transponder, the door can already be opened remotely. Also available are wireless switches that can provide access."

SmartConnect Door

SmartConnect Door is a video intercom with built-in home server. "The professional can also become acquainted with this at Polyclose. You can use it to operate locks, grant access and even control your shutters, blinds or garage door. It's a very comfortable way of providing access, based on our locks," Van Dort said. "FUHR is constantly developing this kind of technology based on market demand."

A jump to Fensterbau

"We are developing solutions for the outer envelope of buildings," Van Dort said in conclusion. "There is more news to come, however, launching the news is a two-stage rocket. First Polyclose, then Fensterbau."
