Window manufacturers are increasingly moving toward extensive automation and digitization of their processes. More to the point, digitization in the sector is in top gear. Software plays an important role in this. The southern German IT company 3E Datentechnik GmbH offers an intelligent ERP solution for window and door manufacturers with 3E-LOOK. Anthony Bonnard (ABO), commercial manager at 3E France SAS, and Frans Visscher (FVI), 3E software consultant for the Benelux look ahead to Polyclose and their latest developments.
ABO: "More and more companies are convinced that digital transformation is essential. By contributing to the optimization of processes and the value chain, digitalization ensures that a company remains competitive. Thanks to our many years of experience in developing digital solutions, 3E is a strong partner for the digitization of window construction."
FVI: "ERP software packages, such as 3E-LOOK, play an important role in digitization. Our solution integrates all kinds of processes for window production and trading and maps them digitally. This results in better performance, increased reliability and lean manufacturing. Cooperation with industry technology partners and feedback from our customers allows us to continuously optimize this solution."
FVI: "We strive to provide a solution that meets our customers' needs. The fact that 3E-LOOK is a very flexible solution helps us do this. We tailored the rotation of profiles and the change between profiles to the needs of the Benelux market. Production was simplified through a user-friendly dialogue. Another example: at the request of a Dutch customer, we developed a function, which allows users to view the exterior view during production. This function in the meantime is available to everyone."
ABO: "In recent months, we have initiated many developments and we are now completing that work. The functionalities of the module for 'special shapes,' for example, are now available for plastic window frames. We integrated the dashboard function into the quotation and order processing so that we can get a clear overview quickly. The mobile solutions and 3E-WebSales, a browser solution for dealers and representatives, were further developed. Then we integrated functionalities to increase usability, such as the introduction of the Google Maps option for geo-planning, which is particularly valuable for shipping."
FVI: "We are currently working on a simplified version of the material management module. This is designed specifically for 3E-LOOK users who want to deploy a smart ordering program with a smaller range of functions. This minimized version will still include important functions, such as openTRANS, the standard for paperless processes in purchasing."
ABO: "Actually, the most important aspects remain excellent user-friendliness, end-to-end digitization and maximum flexibility."
ABO: "Totally agree. Mobile solutions are becoming increasingly important. This is why we developed an app for measuring, installation, service, maintenance and after-sales service in window production and consider its further development crucial. This app ensures end-to-end digitization and efficient processes."
FVI: "For scanning in the material management and logistics modules, the traditional scanner can be replaced by a mobile Android device, and even 3E-WebSales can be accessed from any location. All you need is a mobile device and an Internet connection."
