Geometric precision as a further development of existing designs

With the FSB 1271 program, architect Jürgen Engel has developed, in close collaboration with the FSB brand, a family of door and window hardware that allows for consistent design for numerous areas of application with clear references to existing designs. The collection consistently meets the requirements of modern project construction and impresses with an almost identical geo-metric of different models: a contemporary design that convinces as a "rethought classic" in the portfolio of the Brakel premium hardware manufacturer thanks to its clear design language.

Starting from the architectural idea of responding in equal measure to major urban standards and interior spatial details, Jürgen Engel follows a global form requirement with the design for FSB 1271. In the development phase, the renowned architect, with offices in Germany and China, looked critically at existing FSB designs to develop the ideal form. Handle, assembly and formal uniformity were acribably checked on numerous models. The result: a contemporary family of door, profile and window handles that has already established itself as a classic in FSB's portfolio since its market launch in 2020 and convinces with fine details.

With the contrast of a slightly wavy-flat front and a haptically soft-rounded inner contour, the program unites geometric pre-cision and maximum hand comfort. The grip volume generally remains pleasant: even heavy doors of large size can be opened safely, and the necessary steel core is sufficiently sheathed in fire-resistant aluminum handles. The high degree of consistency that has been rea-lised up to the profile door handle is particularly striking here. It manifests itself without any noticable cant or mitre typical of this model and also meets all the requirements of the applicable hardware standard.

Made of solid stainless steel or anodized aluminum with different surfaces, the product repertoire appeals not only to FSB customers. In 2020, the architectural firm KSP Jürgen Engel Architek-ten was awarded the "ICONIC AWARD: Innovative Archi-tecture - Best of Best" for the design, solemnly honoring global top architecture and outstanding interior design.
