VMRG Quality Requirements 2022 ready for the Quality Assurance Act

As of October 1, 2021, the latest VMRG Quality Requirements and Opinions are back online. The requirements are constantly updated to new standards and regulations and the latest technology. For example, the new 2022 version is adapted to the Building Quality Assurance Act (Wkb), which takes effect July 1, 2022. There are also adjustments in the areas of surface treatment, sandwich panels and two new chapters have been added on internal quality control and bent aluminum parts.

The VMRG Quality Requirements are the requirements for the VMRG Hallmark. The VMRG Quality Mark is prescribed by architects in specifications to ensure quality facades. Facades and facade elements delivered by companies with this quality mark are guaranteed to meet the requirements that can be found on the VMRG website. www.vmrg.nl/kwaliteitseisen These companies are also inspected on this by an independent organization. All facade builders affiliated with the VMRG have the VMRG Hallmark.

Wkb

In the Surface Treatment chapter (Chapter 5), a number of changes have been made around the influence of climate on durability and the structure of coatings has been explained more clearly. In Sandwich Panel Structures (Chapter 9), conditions for taping sandwich structures have been included and the chapter has been updated to reflect current practice. Chapters 13 and 14 dealing with the construction site have been adapted to current practice and changes necessary under the Wkb, respectively. In 2020, the VMRG Terms and Conditions were updated. These adjustments have also been made to the VMRG Warranty and Liability Regulations (Chapter 18).

New chapters

The chapter on Internal Quality Assurance (23) has been drafted to best fit the Wkb. Furthermore, a new chapter (24) has been added on bent (insulated) aluminum parts for windows, doors and curtain walls. From both the companies that bend profiles and the facade builders, there was a need for specific quality requirements for these parts.

As of Oct. 1, 2021, the requirements for 2022 are online. Officially, these requirements do not go into effect until January 1, 2022. A user is free to declare the 2022 VMRG Quality Requirements applicable now.
