True innovation in surface treatment: self-healing and self-lubricating hardware!

Silver Look EVO surface treatment from MACO is the result of years of experience and extensive know-how. This innovation results in a self-healing surface for hardware. In case of damage, which may occur during assembly or through use, the surface is activated, similar to the action of human skin.

Antoine Hussaarts, MULTI Product Manager for the Dutch market, comments: "Silver Look EVO is a so-called 'tribological' surface finish in which nano-capsules are integrated into the finish. These capsules are filled and release their contents under mechanical stress. With normal use, this produces a self-lubricating effect and with more impact - read: scratch damage - the released content of the capsule provides a self-healing effect."

The hardware thus has a different maintenance program which is positive for the processor and the user. Light scratches do not get a chance to allow corrosion formation. Antoine: "Basically, this means the hardware always has a smooth operation and everything stays in a beautiful condition optically."

Standard in the range, same price

MACO has decided to make Silver Look EVO the standard finish of its hardware. "We will phase out the stock, bringing a premium treatment standard into the process. All our standard products are already of a very high quality but this is an additional value that MACO offers the market. A revolutionary development that we are thereby making available to everyone. We are creating a soft transition to Silver Look EVO. Eventually, this will become the standard within the MACO range. Incidentally, Zilverlook EVO is optically the same as its predecessor, Zilverlook, and so it can simply be applied together in one project."

SECUAIR passed SKG2 with flying colors

MACO MULTI SECUAIR is window hardware with built-in ventilation position. This comfortable hardware has four positions: 1 open, 2 close, 3 drop position and 4 SECUAIR. MACO recently had this window hardware extensively tested and thus acquired the security seal SKG2. SECUAIR is thus certified for burglary resistance, also in the ventilation position. In addition to security, the hardware also offers good air permeability, which has been confirmed by testing by SKG/IKOB. A healthier indoor climate can be obtained with SECUAIR, because both upstairs and downstairs can be safely ventilated all year round.

The hardware lends itself well to both new construction and renovation and increases living comfort. "When choosing new window frames, which can be either plastic or wooden, the choice of hardware is important for living comfort. A tilt and turn window is already highly desirable, and when the window can also be set to a continuous ventilation position, it contributes to a healthier indoor climate," Antoine said.
