On the Noordersingel in Leeuwarden, a city villa has been restored while retaining its original architectural details, giving it its authentic appearance. At the same time, the building meets all the requirements of our time and modern materials have been used for a stylish and contemporary interior.
Because the finishing touch is often in the details, things like interior and exterior doors, windows and frame details were also carefully considered. Sigrid Medema of Medema Interieurontwerp in Leeuwarden consulted with Maarten ter Horst, project consultant of Intersteel on the choices to be made. For the exterior doors the choice was made for the stylish model Jupiter door hardware in matte black, complete with security roses. This is combined with black ball bearing hinges. Importantly, door hardware and hinges bear the SKG***® seal of approval and thus meet the highest requirements of the Police Mark Safe Living.
"Also inside, the door and window hardware had to fit the time frame in which the original urban villa was built," says Ter Horst. Therefore, the Ton 400 model was chosen. This window and door hardware is made of matt nickel brass with an ebony handle. The key rosettes and toilet fittings are of course a perfect match. Ter Horst: "A practical consideration was the use of magnetic locks with a stainless steel front plate on the interior doors. This finish where the latch bolt disappears into the door as soon as it is open has a minimalist appearance, so the choice for this also combines excellently with the brass matte nickel door hardware for stylistic reasons."
