The HECO decking range - a convenient fastening system for decking boards

The German specialist for fasteners, HECO-Schrauben, has a wide range of tools for installing terraces and decking. For the fastening of decking boards, HECO-Schrauben offers the special UK-threaded decking screw with threads under the head in stainless steel. This screw, which is available in quality A2 and A4, has been specially developed for mounting wooden decking. Using the screw takes less strength and time, while the connection remains strong and secure.

The terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the garden in summer. In particular, decking creates a cozy atmosphere and is therefore very popular. Whether due to moisture, strong temperature fluctuations or dirt: outdoor screws are exposed to the most diverse conditions on a daily basis. When stainless steel screws type A2 or type A4 are used for wood and decking with a high tannic acid content, high corrosion resistance is guaranteed. HECO-Schrauben has developed two types of decking screws for these diverse conditions. The standard screw with small countersunk head and the decking screw with a small bilge head, threads under the head and slide coating. Both versions are available in stainless steel A2 and A4 and in two packaging variants. In addition, HECO-Schrauben offers not only the right screws for each wooden decking, but also all the matching accessories for installation, such as decking pads, levelling feet, spacers and board tensioners.

The cooperation of the screw tip, head, thread geometry, material and coating of the HECO-TOPIX Decking Screw make installing decking boards easier. The patented point quickly engages the wood and reduces splitting of the wood. Thanks to the increasing pitch and the DS coating, the screw-in torque of the decking screw is reduced. This makes it easy to attach and remove the screw. The thread under the head fixes the decking board and prevents annoying creaking noises when the boards expand. The small bilge head countersinks easily into the wood and prevents small wooden splinters from coming off the board. The result is a nice smooth decking. The stainless steel HECO-TOPIX decking screw is available in the dimensions 5.0 x 40 - 80 mm.

HECO terrace pads

To protect the wood and the substructure, HECO terrace pads have been developed, which are laid under the substructure. They are available in three thicknesses (3, 8 and 20 mm) and can therefore also be used to accommodate height differences. The breathable rubber granulate of the pads provides protection against moisture and flooding, as they allow rapid drainage of rain and melt water. In addition, the pads act as sound insulation. The dimensions of the pads have been selected so that they can be laid without difficulty under almost any substructure.

The HECO adjustable feet ensure stability of the substructure. The adjustable feet are made of high quality hard plastic and therefore very strong. They are available in two sizes and can be infinitely adjusted in height. Height differences in the substructure from 30 to 150 mm. can be accommodated effortlessly.

HECO has also included spacers in three different sizes (3, 5 and 7 mm.) in its terrace range. They ensure a regular distance between the boards and come in three sets of eight spacers in a practical plastic box. To avoid confusion, each size has a different color. Thanks to the eye on the spacers, they can be easily removed; even if they are stuck. The underside of the holders is rounded so there are no prints or damage to the shelves.

HECO shelf tensioner

The HECO plank tensioner was developed especially for working with warped deck boards. The tool has a very robust design and helps to align and fix the boards without using a lot of force. To achieve an even distribution of the boards, the tensioner has three spacers. This allows up to four deck boards to be held in place simultaneously. The tensioner is easy to use and the tension width can be continuously adjusted. After tightening the tensioner, the screws can be screwed in without having to be individually pressed or held.
