Milling, drilling, sawing and welding more accurately, faster and better

More accurate, faster and better milling, drilling, sawing and welding

Specialist in welding and processing machines Kruba BV will show a range of novelties during the Polyclose trade fair in Ghent, which will allow processors in the plastic frame and aluminum facade industry to mill, drill, saw and weld their profiles even more accurately, faster and better.

Eye-catcher at Polyclose (booth 6124, hall 6) is a new Kruba steel sawing center for easy cutting of the steel reinforcement of plastic frames, windows and doors. Space has also been reserved for the Kruba double screw machine type CS-801, with which Kruba BV responds to the need of processors to automatically join intermediate posts of plastic profiles. "This machine not only provides a considerable saving in labor time, but also offers ergonomic advantages," says Cees van Essen, director of Kruba BV. "Among other things because the steel is screwed and tensioned on two sides at the same time."

Easy cutting and milling of the plastic glass frames

Particular attention is paid to the sawing and milling of glass frames, for which Kruba BV shows several innovative solutions. "First of all, we present a mitre saw machine with an electronic length stop, which allows two glass frames to be cut simultaneously. The miter saw machine thereby ensures guaranteed cutting lengths," says Van Essen. "In addition, we present an expanded version, with which up to four (!) glass slats can be cut simultaneously: two on the width dimension and two on the height dimension. This version comes in combination with an electronic length stop."

Also for short glass frame lengths, which are difficult to cut and insert (bend), Kruba BV shows a number of innovative solutions. "Besides a standard end milling machine with which the glass frame can easily be milled on the end side, we present an advanced solution in which two glass frames can be milled and sawn in one go and fully automatically," said Van Essen. "This machine also comes in combination with an electronic length stop. A third solution is a special multi-blade sawing machine that slots the back of the glass frame, making the glass frame pliable and easy to insert into the small rebates."

Latest developments of the wood bond look

Naturally, the latest developments in the wood joint look (HVL) will also be on display. "Both in single and double versions and then particularly focused on the straight-on-slant options," Van Essen said.

"In recent months, we have significantly innovated our Kruba HVL machining and welding machines. Our latest HVL-CNC machining center therefore offers a host of flexible solutions, including the ability to mill intermediate posts (contour milling), to mill 'behind-the-seal' freely and - if necessary - to mill away the fiberglass in the fiberglass-reinforced plastic profiles. With the Kruba HVL-CNC machining center, processors can machine their profiles before they are welded, creating a seamless welded joint." In addition, Kruba BV presents an HVL machining center that allows the profile to be milled on both sides simultaneously, after which it is seamlessly welded on a standard Urban machine. "With the Kruba CNC 4024-2 HVL machine, we are also showing a new straight-on-slant joint, which was developed in close cooperation with our customer."

Innovative seamless welding method

In addition to its own HVL machining centers, Kruba BV's advanced four-head Urban welding machine also offers the ability to make a seamless welded joint in just one and a half minutes of welding and machining time. "The Urban welding method enables the welding of different profiles, including the combination of a frame profile with stop and a frame profile without stop," said Van Essen.

"The method does not depend on profile tolerances. There is also no need to distinguish between profiles with or without (wood grain) film. The protective film does not have to be removed beforehand and post-coloring is not an issue either." Various results/sample elements of the new Urban welding machine will be presented during the Polyclose trade fair.

Wide range of crosscut, miter saw and milling machines

The Kruba booth will be completed with various crosscut and mitre saws from the Graule company, as well as various contouring machines for intermediate posts. "From Pertici Industries, we are showing various milling machines, as well as the double miter saw type 500D2K with electronically adjustable sawing units, an automatic angle adjustment and a large cutting range suitable for cutting both plastic and aluminum profiles from the outer and inner dimensions. Also of interest is the Thorwesten universal CNC machining center type TH-PBZ-4 for plastic profiles, with which all milling operations for, for example, dewatering, aeration, lock boxes and crank and cylinder holes in plastic can be realized, as well as screwing on the steel or plastic reinforcement. The machine is equipped with the latest CNC control, including a graphic 3D representation of the machining operation. Optionally, an external screw unit can be added, increasing production (even) further. In addition, the infeed and outfeed tables are available in extended versions, for machining profiles up to more than five meters."
