Preparation, production, assembly and cleaning of outdoor living systems can be done very efficiently

For more than 40 years, Novatio has been a loyal partner of many window and door installers in the Benelux and Europe. Together with them, the specialist has developed an extensive range of safe, durable and VOC-free solutions for the preparation, production, installation, cleaning and maintenance of exterior joinery. For the past year, the company has also been focusing on outdoor living systems with products for cleaning and protecting cloths and profiles, dry lubrication of zippers and guides, and waterproofing of drainage channels, among other things.

Novatio has built a solid reputation in the windows and doors sector. Its adhesives, sealing kits, degreasers, cleaning products and surface treatment solutions are used by many manufacturers and installers. Moreover, they also recommend the maintenance boxes with different cleaning products to their customers. Products such as Novacare Shamp Wax R&D, FA Clean R&D, Safety Clean R&D, Multifoam R&D, Bio Paste R&D and Surface Renewer R&D immediately ring a bell.

"We don't shy away from any challenge. Based on the information we receive from the customer, we propose an appropriate solution. Usually a product is already available, but for problems that cannot be solved with an existing means, we work with the customer to develop a specific solution. We have Novatio concepts and systems for aluminum, PVC and wood, but also for all types of paint or foils," says Mano Geuns, sales manager Novatio Benelux Windows, Doors & Outdoor Living. 

"Thus, the choice of adhesive depends on the surface material, the desired stiffness of the structure and the force to which it will be subjected. To have good bonding and long-term adhesion, surfaces must be properly degreased and pre-treated with a proper primer. In addition, weather and dirt have a strong influence on the durability and appearance of exterior joinery. Without thorough cleaning upon completion and periodic maintenance, it soon loses much of its charm. That can be avoided at all times with Novatio's concepts and systems."

Focus on Outdoor Living

In the last year, the specialist has also focused more on supporting manufacturers and installers of outdoor living systems. Pergolas, patio coverings and slatted roofs are indeed popular, because after all, people want to spend as much time as possible outside, even when the weather is just a little less. The systems are often completely lockable with solar screens, sliding glass systems or slat walls in aluminum and/or wood. Quality production, proper installation and periodic cleaning and maintenance are also crucial to enjoying this investment for a long time.

"Of course, a lot of our existing Novatio concepts and systems can be used directly in this market, but our R&D department is also looking into new developments here to serve customers even better. For example, our FA Clean R&D removes dust, sand and other mineral particles, while XPR-90 Wax & Glue Remover and Oxi-Remover remove stubborn glue residue or rust stains, respectively. Leftover adhesive residue from spacers or protective pads in cork, as well as suction cup marks on glass and sliding walls, disappear with Bio Paste R&D. We also recommend giving the structure of canopies and screens a deep clean and using Surface Renewer R&D to allow the original color to recover," Geuns explains. 

"But there's more. One of the major problems during the installation of slat roofs and patio covers is the complete waterproofing of the drainage channels. With our specially developed adhesive systems, we offer an easy solution for this. For lubricating the guides of sliding doors or walls and screen zippers, we propose Silicon 100. Thanks to this 100 % dry silicone spray does not take oil inside, preventing stains on, for example, parquet, carpet and floor tiles. In short: looking for a solution to glue, clean, degrease, dry lubricate or treat outdoor living systems, we probably already have the appropriate product in our range."
