The driving force behind window automation launches new website

Who doesn't know them, the hand controls used to operate the high-pitched pop-out windows in a school classroom or sports hall? That switch or remote control that causes a window to open electrically somewhere far above your head, to provide natural ventilation or just to automatically close the window against falling rain? We don't think about it, and that's a good thing. That there is a specialized industry behind these window closures is obvious.

The driving force behind this automation is called Teleflex, assisted by subsidiary Amerflex. We talk to Jesse Verheem, marketing & sales at both companies. About two strong brands, which basically provide window controls that are comparable in functionality, but still differ from each other. The websites of the companies leave nothing to be desired in terms of information and clearly show that we are dealing with a joining of forces.

More choice, different solutions

"Teleflex acquired Amerflex in 2008, making the overall offering even more complete. Amerflex works in the same field as Teleflex, but has other brands. Teleflex has its own brand in the market in addition to third-party brands. However, by offering the two delivery programs separately in this way, there is something for everyone. An extensive range, which ensures that we can offer the best solution in many different situations," explains Verheem. Both companies now have a very complete website, with the same recognizable signature. "We radiate the same to the outside world; it is our delivery program that distinguishes the two companies. With our combined strength, we are an absolute specialist in remote control of windows."

Hand control is as popular as ever

You would say that in these days of automation, every window should be electrically operated. Yet it is precisely hand controls that are as popular as ever. Verheem: "Our hand controls are 'hufter proof'. That's necessary, because the windows that need to be operated usually hang in places where many people have access and not everyone handles such controls with the same care. In most cases, electric operation also costs just a bit more, so for many companies or institutions an additional reason to choose the manual version. Nevertheless, the electric control is also extremely popular because it enjoys a modern look and is available with many different options so that we can ensure the optimal comfort of ventilation."

Those who choose window controls from Teleflex or Amerflex can count on support from A to Z. For example, Amerflex and Teleflex offer installation as an extra service. What about the control of the motors, we want to know. "In that you have two options. It can be done through a simple switch on the wall or radiographically, through a receiving unit and a remote control. Optionally, you can then choose rain and wind sensors that provide automatic control of the opener. With our electric window openers and the right accessories, the windows can also be incorporated into a building management system."
