We speak with Reinoud van der Kroon of Woelm, about all the good features that come with smart technology. "Smart sliding and swing doors not only offer the user more operating comfort. "With HELM SmartStop, sliding doors are automatically braked and pulled to their final position. Quietly, controlled and noiselessly," Van der Kroon explains. "HELM SmartClose ensures that a sliding door can be opened and closed mechanically, without electricity. Looking at sliding doors built into wall niches, HELM SmartTip not only provides additional ease of operation, but also a piece of aesthetics. By simply pressing on the front of the door, it receives a push in the right direction from the wall niche and the door moves out of the niche. In this way, Woelm makes it possible for the door to disappear completely into the niche. When open, you therefore do not see the sash, which makes for a beautiful look. After all, a handle has become superfluous; bowl handles suffice here."

Connected and comfortable

"Automation is a high priority at Woelm. For example, there is the SmartTouch system from KWS. A smart door handle bar with a built-in sensor that flawlessly senses whether the person who wants to enter may be granted access. With the appropriate transponder in his or her pocket, the user only needs to touch the door handle and the door is unlocked. Additional ease of operation can be obtained via an app on the smartphone. With this, the owner can remotely unlock the door," outlines Van der Kroon.

However, it does not stop there in terms of technology. Not only the KWS SmartTouch, but also various HELM products can be connected to any home automation system with universal controls.
